    Steering column swap -- LBZ into LB7

    You need to swap the "rooster comb or detent" along with the shifter if you are install the six speed tap shifter. Two small screws hold it on. The 06 cluster DIC will display what is needed. You might loose the 2nd driver MPG but overall you will like it better.

    Mark is correct. In fact it is mostly likely what is classified as a 20,000 lb grey iron, in other just plain old cast iron. The same as man hold covers. If it were cast steel or ductal class they would be much higher in cost. In general cast steel often requires heating treating after casting.

    Hope you can get it down even more... 80 - 90 mils is too much. Keep that meter on for up to 10 minutes or more.

    lly long cranking times

    Jplatt, sure not an expert but I think James has the answer to this one. Problem seem too RPM dependent where excessive return usually causes low rail at WOT. Hard to check return rate when pressure is low at cranking. Still may be a problem with both especially at that mileage. Good luck

    Electrical nightmare!!

    on mine it was the RSE rear seat entertainment module. It was intermittent and hard to nail down. Also the park position indicator would stay lit. Check for heat in any of the radio, onstar, xm, bose amp modules with your hand or no contact thermometer. You can also pull fuses one at a time.

    Rearview camera manual on switch

    I'm fairly sure that the GM camera is not powered with 12 volts. I believe it is a regulated 6 volts dc source. I've used several of them and always use a small package 7806 regulator. I may have some extras if you need one. Are you trying turn on the video with a switch?

    Sunroof leak?

    GMC_2002 got it right. Those are slip fit tubes and one or more may be off the nipple. Might be able to look with one of the small inspection cameras. Pull the trim moldings and pull the head liner down and have a look. I repaired one last month.
