They are likely still suffering the same issue we documented before. China put the reman part in boxes with new Part label on them. We notified NAPA of the issue and it fell on deaf ears. I would get a bigger set of heads... a 408 needs to breathe. I have a custom 1 off set of AFR 205s with a smaller intake valve for a 5.3L that almost flow 300 CFM. We specifically used the 205 casting because of the bore size and the small combustion chamber. Mine are 61cc but it's not 87 octane...- 1FastBrick

The 317 heads are around 71 cc but the LS3 head has a more efficient combustion chamber design. The only advantage to the LS3 is more flow on the top end.- 1FastBrick
