Well I guess I need to teach the wife how to park. At least she was not driving my truck and no one was seriously hurt. See the pictures

Skidded on Black Ice going around a corner and slid right off the road into a ravine. Down about 40 Ft and landed on the trees. Car did not roll. Three dogs in the car, all in cages, and they came out just fine. Only a bump on the head

Wow, what a ride. I can only imagine. I've plowed down trees, but crap, never used one as a jack stand. :D You folks are so lucky.

Now that the insurance company has decided to total the car. I was wondering if anybody had advice or experience on how to negotiate with the insurance company to get the best possible deal? Intital surface estimate came out at $14,600 without taking anything apart to see the hidden damage. The car is a 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid loaded.

Suggestions?
