Very nice, but oooff $2800:eek:! I'm hoping to order my 458 SoCom upper today and I though $700 was nuts lol.

With a .458 socom you'll end up shooting that much money in ammo at almost $2/Round, not to mention it's not exactly the easiest ammo to come by. I had a .458 upper on a Rockriver lower, that i was going to use as a brush gun up here for bears. Ended up selling the upper because if I wanted to spend that much on ammo I would have saved up for a .50. It is a heavy hit to the piggy bank but I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" with AR's granted I could have spent a little less and still had a decent gun but it is worth it to me to have the peace of mind that I have an AR that runs like a sewing machine. But hey everyone has their preferences if they didn't the world would be pretty boring.

Yea I hear ya on the price of the ammo. I'm only planning on using it for deer hunting cause we have to use handgun cartridges in our rifles here in Indiana, so if i spend $150 bucks a year in ammo it'll be alot. I'm maybe looking into trading my .204 upper for something more versatile and shooting friendly, not to mention a little lighter.

Hey if i had the coin i'd go for the best of the best to :thumb:

what made you decide to go with the xdm over a 1911? I have my reasons I just like hearing others as well. my wife wants a sig p229 and coat the frame pink.... seriously?!? whatever gets her "into" guns I guess.

Oh, thanks btw
I didnt want a cheap one and after looking at what a decent one cost I went back to looking at AR's but i changed my mind again and started looking again. After really thinking about what i wanted in a gun i changed my mind on the 1911 wanted more compacity and less recoil so the wife could shoot it. And kinda wanted something for CCW. I still want one just wanted something my wife and i could enjoy first.
