Got beat by a camaro ZL-1 today. He had a lot of money in it you could tell that. I haven't looked into them yet but I am about to. He didn't beat me by much as I had to go around a car and slow down once. But still I haven't been beat around here til today. Someone around here has a badass gto thats at least cammed 6.0 6 speed I killed that thing. Just kinda wondering whats under the hood of these ZL-1s. Any kind of forced induction? Can they be tuned?

The zl-1s are pretty badass. 6.2l supercharged 580hp and 556tq. 0-60 in 3.9sec. Fastest production camaro ever made.

Impressive your truck ran with it depending on your mods.

ZL1 is a CTS-V with a different body on it, 6.2 supercharged ~580 horse. They have an electronic suspension that can be changed on the fly, really nasty cars.

i got to drive the first ZL1 in California at a huge dealership, it was a special order and i got to do the PDI test drive. they are badass and i honestly couldn't break the tires loose even with the manual they just grip the street so rediculously good, i got it up to 180 on a back country road before i had to let off. long story short don't eff with one :thumb:

I agree, not taking anything away from you, but I don't see your mods supporting an 11 second truck, If it was from a roll that car should have walked away from you.

I agree stock turbo truck isn't going to cut it with a zl-1. If the driver is good they'll do 11s most are low 12s I barely lost to one from about 25mph too 110 like maybe a fender but I have 650-700hp and have run a 12.15 from a dig I could have had him I think there badass rigs id like a rematch when I get a fresh motor and twins

I don't even see built trans in the op's sig. If this car was an actual zl1 you'd be lucky to stay behind it long enough to see the badges.

He beat you because that car is a bunch faster than your truck. I have a '11 CTS-V bone stock with the same engine and it is a couple tenths faster than my LMM with twins. They will back half you like a mother especially. My V has ran 12.08 @ 116 with nothing other than drag radials. 12.28 on street tires.

Change the pulley on the supercharger and a little tune and it wouldn't even seem like a race past 100 feet with a stock turbo truck.

I looked at the 14's online yesterday. I want a ZL1 or Z28 some day.

You have to watch it around here, I ran into what looked like a normal ZL1 until it drove by, it had a nasty lope and the plate said LPE ZL1. It was a Lingenfelter car! They are only 45min from me. lol :woott:

It wasn't from a dead stop. He kept weaving in and out of traffic and when he got clear of it I was going around the last car and hammered down. He was pulling away from me pretty good. I'm not gonna lie. It wasn't by no long shot though. And yes I have the 1057 tc and gmax 5r kit. 40% sticks. Injectors, transmission, and efi live were already done when I bought the truck three years ago
