More then a built allison. If I run across a decent deal on a ZF trans I'll pick it up but they are more then I want to pay for one most of the time. Looking at around 6-7K from the little bit of searching I did after buying a big clutch and all the little stuff.

Nordstromauto.com has 2500 trannys and Xfer cases tested and a warranty from their inventory of newer taken down trucks etc. North Dakota location if that seems central for shipping and they go worldwide too this ad says. Keep the other for backup for that value or cost it's how you look at it I guess. This outfit sounds crafty it's ad says they sell LS engines wired etc. to your applications same warranty etc.

We bought a complete 01 Duramax/ZF6 4x4 for $3000. We could easily sell the motor for what a clutch costs and still have lots of spare parts. We're using everything in a project though. If ya shop around you can do it for $3000-$4000 in parts.

Does anyone know about what it would cost for all the parts needed to swap a zf6 for an allison?

The problem I have is how do u do the tuning on a lmm to get it to work with a manual trans?

i don't know if this helps at all but i helped a buddy with a 5 speed swap into his dodge and all he had to do was jump some wires and make the truck to think it was in neutral all the time. i'm not saying to jump wires, but if there's a way to EFI it to think it's in neutral all the time i think that would be the way to go.

Would there be a way to swap back to an LBZ os? Then maybe possible? Would you need to do any re-wire to make the lmm into an LBZ? I thought hard parts wise they are the same. Maybe just swapping controllers?

Just random thoughts.

Seems it was over in Mike's section that LBZ and LMM are not wired to be compatible on the TCM issue it was on changing parts for a puller I think but just wanted to show that. Hope it's helpful.
