Ok I have a dumb question, you have to upgrade the clutch to hold power obviously, but how do you slow everything back down fast enough to shift quickly, there's a lot of rotating mass moving real fast in there

If you mean me, I tried that today in 2 wheel and smoked the bajeesus out of my clutch. The power is there I think, I just need to save my pennies for a good clutch to put it all on the ground

Wasn't directed toward anyone in general just whoever could answer my question. Reason I asked I have a friend w/ a 500HP tuned ZF6 truck and he just upgraded to a new KPP clutch and now it's bad ass, he can launch in 2wd in any gear he wants, but it seems like he can't shift it fast enough to live up to it's "fastest" potential

I was talking about smokeshows question, sorry. But I really don't know, I do my best to match engine speed with road speed to save the synchros and make it shift easier. I only have a single disc though. I don't know how a dual disc acts.

What clutch are you running??

Ran a few different ones....10 button dual.....6 button dual....and a 8 button tripple...all south bends all worked great, never an issue with any of them doing their job! I liked the tripple the best!

Caleb had a shortened shifter which would help, and they gears are pretty close, I've driven some cars and these trucks aren't too bad once you get used to grabb'n gears:D

Shifter was a waste of $$, i ran 11.90s with out it 11.80's with it and almost 100more hp....

Once the clutch holds, we will get a few logs and get it all dialed in.:thumb:

How does the triple tow and daily drive? I was planning on doing the dual disc, but if the triple daily drives ok I may go with it. I know the dual is rated for 5 or 600 hp but I'm sure they do that rating with near stock tires, I don't want to get rid of my 35's. So the triple would probably be better anyway

Sounds good bobo :thumb:

And kivitts, you should add a billet T-handle shift knob. That's a guaranteed 50 hp right there  :D

Didn't want to start a new thread for this question. What size tires are best to run with? I know my 315s will slow me down so I scored some steel w/t wheels for free and the bro in law is giving me some decent 245/75/16 streets. Is that a good size or to small?
