Sorry about the crappy quality video but it's all I have right now on my phone. I built a servo motor shifted zf..... Got the shifts down to .6 seconds. That's timed from wot back to wot. Trying to get the record haha

Thats whats so much fun! You still shift it, just instead of moving the lever you tap up or down. You still can have full control of the clutch. I have a solenoid in the clutch line so it wont re-engage the clutch until the shift is complete. So to shift you tap any volume button (this arms the system) then I have an optical encoder on the clutch pedal. The shift doesn't happen until the encoder is happy with clutch position at which point it "holds" the clutch line pressure with the solenoid, shifts then releases the clutch.

So you still have all the "feel" of a real manual gearbox, but with quickest shifting possible :)

so u still hit the pedal? To apply pressure. but it releases itself. or a sylinoid applys clutch pressure for u to? guess u still have to have the pedal to launch and take off normal. sweet idea i thought of c02 assist but u went all out.glad theres openminded people out there. how much that setup run u?

You don't want to know haha. The servos and encoders alone were 3k. But it is as close to a Ferrari Duramax as I will come haha.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1377053973.327128.jpg

I'm using an opto22 logic controller which was another 1500$. And it took some time to make it work. Then designing the mechanism to convert it to "cable" was interesting to say the least.
