sorry fellas im sure this topic has come up numerous times so if im beating a dead horse forgive....but.....found out today while looking at my scantool ive got two bad injectors. my balance rates were +8.1(in drive), +6 (in neutral)!! on 1 and 8! these injectors were done at the dealer 50k ago! this is absoulutely rediculous. why can all the other manuacteurs build injectors that can last 100's of thousands of miles and the lb7's crap out more than most damn transmissions! like i said before forgive me for the dead horse beating but come on! after calming down a bit (and a few beers later) i give my dealership a call..they say "sorry you get 12months/12,000miles) but gave me GM corportate#.. yet again i take a minute to calm down lol and give them a call. i expressed to the women on the phone(in a nice, pleasnt way) that i felt it was slightly rediculous to have such low miles on these injectors and already failing. i also expressed that i felt since they knew my particular injector designed that they replaced in my truck was prone to failure they should have a better warranty than 12k.. she was very polite and told me she whole heartily agreed and she def would like to do something about it...i dont know what exactly she plans on doing about it but i appreciate it.. im not looking for them to pay for everything, hell ive be willing to pay half i just dont agree that we as lb7 owners should have to pay 4,000 bucks every 50-80k miles.. maybe im crazy, idk lol...thanks for listening to me vent fellas lol

ok heres an update.. spoke to chevrolet corporate.. they agreed to replace all 8 free of charge if they are bad.. however, i have to let them to a return line test, and a few other test to verify (i completely understand)..I have to approve 4hrs of labor for diag. but only have to pay the diag if it is not the injectors. im pretty satisfied with chevrolet right now. i have some pretty high balance rates.. how can i tell if its the injectors or the returns? anything short of pulling valve covers?? balance rates are highest on 1,5,and 8. slight loss in power but no codes, no fuel in oil.

They did that for me too back when mine went out and my truck was like a month out of their 7 year warranty. I was kind of shocked.

Ok another update. After 3 days of no truck and no phone call from my dealer I got a phone call from gm customer service. So long story short they said three days with no phone call is unacceptable and they are replacing all 8 injectors and giving me a rental free of charge

But...how long is it going to last, did they do it right, did they unseat a cup and not notice? My expirience with these warranty jobs, depending on the dealership, they are often haisty and dont do a good job. I talked to one "certified duramax tech" who told me i was a complete idiot....that there was "absolutely no sealant specified anywhere in any GM maual for the injector cups." really? This is what they have working in these shops. He acted completely baffled when i asked him to look it up and it was right there plain as day. That is why i dont goto dealerships.

While this is mostly true, in his situation that is worth risking because the dealership payed for the parts and repairs. Sure there is a chance something wasn't done right but if he did the job himself or a private diesel shop, he would have paid out the ass. In this case, the OP is clearly a winner. He might even be "bi-winning" :roflmao:

Hahaha well they gave me a 12month/12,000 mile warranty like normal an it would take me 12montha to put that many miles on my truck so hopefully I'd find out if something was wrong with in a year
