Your tax dollars to promote this crap. Basically saying that now with obama care you have no responsibly and can do whatever you want. health insurance will take care of it all.

Ignoring the how I feel about those with paying for those without, this sort of attitude will destroy us. I was raised that YOU paid for what you use, not that someone who is responsible should help cover your dumb ass

We dont have that obamacare bullshit but my fiance workplace (neurosurgeon office) switched insurances (unsure of who it is through)and she paid 50 bucks a pop for her birth control the first 4 months .Now its free because apparently she paid her $200 deductible.

Back to your point, i agree whole heartedly.

I don't care how you feel about lifestyle choices, the government should never glamorize or say that poor choices with alcohol and sex are ok because of free health care.
Maybe I'm just getting old. Maybe I was raised differently. Maybe I am sick of this push to keep people poor and stupid. Maybe I'm just a few 90 hour weeks away of being able to become one of those evil rich people in a high tax bracket and really don't want to support all the poor lazy and stupid people.

Sorry I shouldn't make this political. I just get spun up over it

Its pushing the fact that people will be forced to have health insurance and now you can relax a little knowing you won't go bankrupt paying for a routine medical or ER trip.

Ever look at how much a simple bus ride to the ER and night stay runs? Yea, its absurd.

If anything comes from the ACA, hopefully it shakes up how the health industry prices crap out.

All that being said, both the gf and her mother work in hospitals... in for some rough times ahead.

I agree that there is a lot of health care markups that are absurd. But look at what it cost to buy all the equipment in an ER. And an ambulance. Not to mention the highly trained personnel to run it. I believe in regulation to keep things fair, but if I am healthy and almost never use those services, then I should be able to chose a low premium high deductible plan if I want. I shouldn't have to pay for the retard that is doing a keg stand and hurt himself. Or the girl that randomly hooks up and now needs all sorts of meds for her STD. That is their life choices and they should be responsible for it.

Bottom line this is a way for force young, mostly healthy males to pay for weak and low income earners that cannot afford this type of coverage and would die off sooner. It is a cold look at this but that is all it is.

What enrages me is this group that is saying it is ok to partake in risky behavior, I will be there to take on much higher premiums so you don't have to pay more than me, despite the fact I am responsible and think before I act

I agree, but you do realize that the pre ACA premiums you were paying reflected high rates in order for insurance companies to cover the uninsured idiots who ended up in the ER?

I am def not defending the ACA, we got told at work we have a year left and then they are unsure how bad the health care rates will jack up. Just personally feel that regardless of whether its a govt forced thing or a big business healthcare thing, I still pay for idiots with crappy insurance who do dumb things. (Young, single, male) Frankly, I think its BS how a undocumented person can injure themselves, get fixed up, and I foot the bill, directly or indirectly.

Hurray hurray.

I didn't mean for this to get political. Really my intent is to raise awareness of what this group was doing; regardless of what you think about the aca this add campaign is crap, and to vent a little bit about this.

Mods sorry if this was too political

I still think they should be able to bill a % of your income even if you don't have insurance, and bankruptcy isn't a way out. Or switching your name and buying a new fake SS card. But I'm also an asshole who has a very cold view of the world

I don't see this staying on the books, especially depending on how the next few months and next elections go.

I still think that the majority of millionaires are where they are because they are more responsible and smarter than the average person. Some of it is luck, but a lot of them make their own luck. This the government or some rich dude should take care of me because I'm poor is crap. This add campaign is just that. I'm sorry, I gave up a lot of "fun" when I was younger and deserve better healthcare if I so chose it. Just like millionaires can afford better care than me. I'm not angry about it, but I am doing what I can to keep moving up.
I believe the role of the government is regulation to keep dishonest people from getting away with it, not to baby people who are too stupid, and lazy to move up from where they are

Ok one more and I will try to stop....

Name one country that has benefited nationally long term from advancing their welfare program.
Name one country that has successfully reduced their welfare program by more than 2% long term without some sort of rebellion.
And don't try to tell me the aca isn't just another form of welfare

Only thing that comes to mind is FDRs new deal. And with that program you worked your ass off to get paid even if it was building parks. So I wouldn't really call that full blown welfare
