Stupidest thing ever made. 70k for mid size pick up that can't tow hardly anything. With a v8 Cummins that gets God awful fuel economy.

The interior is pretty nice though.

Suffers sorely from small-tire-syndrome like factory GM trucks do.

I could probably get use to the rest.

How do they compare to the Ram 1500 Ecodiesel? They're obviously way behind the heavy duty trucks from any of the big 3. I'm assuming their competition is the Ram 1500 though, right?

Pretty sure they're rated to tow more then the ram, but not by much. Also they get horrible fuel mileage. The whole in between 1/2 and 3/4 ton idea seemed odd to begin with, and I don't think it's gonna be a very popular truck.

"Horrible" fuel mileage... How many people do you know have one? Probably nobody.

I think it would be a sweet setup, just as much power as a lb7 stock. Milliken bought one so I'd assume tunes we be available shortly.

Should have worded it better. Obviously there's not a lot of info out, but the little info I've seen haven't had great numbers. I'd be interested to see what kind of results people will see once they start messing with them.

20-23mpg tops,1000 lbs less payload than the ecodiesel, and ugly as fk.
It's a fail IMO. As much as I like Nissan and was hoping for the best, they missed the mark with its downsides and high price tag.

They should have took the hint when Dodge scrapped the 5 liter and went with a different powerplant.

Problem is in MHO; Guys will overload this truck. The engine will probably hold but the truck chassis and frame along with the body will fail.

They scrapped it because gm gave them the v6 they have all done on a silver plater

Not exactly. Dodge had already scrapped the 5 liter as it couldn't achieve the mpg they were looking for.

At the time it was announced it was going into the Ram and the Jeep, GM and Chrysler/Fiat were all still 50/50 owners of VM Motori. GM had already scrapped the plan to put the 3.0 in the caddy at this point.

Ironically Chrysler owned a portion of VM before GM did. Penske got it off Chrysler and GM got it off Penske.

Sad they let it slip through their hands. I think the 2009 bailout had something to do with it.

Wish GM would come out with something in a 1/2ton, sounds like ford has something in the works and dodge is having some success with the ecodiesel

Definitely. And it's got a built in gooseneck. 12,300 tow rating vs 9k for the ecodiesel.

A full size diesel of your choosing is about the same price.

That looks real safe...

I agree with Mike, people are going to over work them and then bash for failures of drivetrain and frame/body...

The front end looks like a Ford grill, GM headlights and then they slapped that Cummins emblem on the fender. Not a fan.
