alright guys I'm hoping you can help me out! no idea how to use this ****in thing yet, but.... I have an 06 lbz rclb. dsp5 from korry willis. I recently did and egr delete from sinister diesel. I have been going back and forth with the guys from ppei...when clearing the EGR codes (P0540 and P0405) they should be long gone because they're tuning deletes those for good....but not for me, they keep coming back! now theyre saying I could have so much build up that I keep getting an insufficient flow code? what are they even talking about... if anyone can help me figure this out, it would be awesome

The buildup they are referring to is in your intake between the egr and the cylinder, it can get really thick. it's soot and oil mixed together and is like tar almost. It can actually block the airways but I still think they should be able to tune it out. How many miles before you tuned it? I'm not real educated on all that but I had a lly once that was just unbelievable nasty, like I used a putty scraper to clean intake runners out

I'm not quite sure here. P0540 is for the intake air heater. And P0405 is for the EGR position sensor. I would not think a P0405 would not be able to set if truck was tuned without EGR but am not positive there. But how EGR is monitor is with position sensor and mass airflow sensor. When EGR is commanded on the ECM wants to see a drop in amount of grams the MAF sensor is reading. But again, without EGR in the tuning I wouldn't think the ECM would bother looking for that feedback signal. Just keep working with ppei and kory. They're awesome. And as far as the P0540 goes I can only suggest a test light and a scan tool so you can test to see if you are getting power to it. There's a 175 mega amp fuse in the UBEC
