Yeah im pissed

Got hit by a red light runner this morning. Im extremely pissed at the sob. First thing i said when i stop spinning was "you sorry mother f'er". Guy spun me 180* in the intersection and almost onto the side walk. Sami is in decent shape for a 40mph hit sideways.

Broke driver side leaf, blew the tire and messed up the rim bad, rear bumper flew across the street to the fence (didnt help it was already broke and i was going to be fixing it today ), broke the tail lights, riped my new "used" top, exhaust broke, bent the ranger shackles for my missing links, and not sure if axle is ok. Body never got hit, he hit the rear tire full force. Thank god for yota axles or id been on my lid cause the stock sami axles aint very wide. I just hope the frame is ok so it aint totalled. Looked ok to me.

My back isnt doin so well and im not one to bitch. Specially since ive never had back trouble. No happy about this. Goin to the doc today to get xrayed.

Had this been my diesel, there would be a dead guy in phoenix and id be goin to jail for murder lol.

Hope the xrays come up okay. Tough to look on the bright side of these things but at least you're still intact and in overall decent shape considering. Looks like your ride didn't fair too bad from the way you describe the hit either.

thanks levi. yeah, Im very happy i came out with the little problems i have. if i didnt have my window down im sure my head would have smashed it out and had he hit me any faster i would have rolled. Im very thankful someone was watching out for me. People's disregard to common sense is what urks the hell out of me. You cant miss a red light thats been lit for 15 secs straight.

Im ok. cant really bend over or sit/stand very long without my back starting to shoot a little pain up my spine. its a really weird sensation, probably cause ive never felt it before but shit it dont feel good. leaving work in an hour to go see what the doc says. hope i jsut pulled something

I wish my dmax would get hit just like that! And hard enough to turn the frame into horseshoe! LOL I'd prolly shake the guys hand as long as my passengers & I were ok.

Yeah im thinkin about linkin it. One of the guys i know well out here builds link kits for these samis. Might do that. Depends on insurance though.

Thank you kevin but my parents have a jeep i can drive for the time being. I just dont want this to get drawn out. I need the vehicle and hate driving other peoples cars. Not to mention im suppose to ne house hunting in two weeks

sounds like you might have a pinched nerve. back troubles suck! i fractured mine in a 4 wheeler wreck in '97 and have paid for it ever since. i just hope yours isn't bad.:thumb:

Sorry to hear hope ur back isn't hurt to bad. Had a friends dad get rearend at 60mph he was at a stop. He was in a s10. Not trying to make urs sound any better just have seen how it can effect someone.

back checked out good per the doc. got some pain meds and i got to go back next week for a check up.

I did notice the leaf didnt break. it unwrapped from the bushing! surprised the hell out of me! lol i spent the better part of 30 min under it looking to see if the frame is bent or tweaked. couldnt find one ripple/bend/tweak that wasnt there already so i think i lucked out. Im almost 100% sure they will total it though cause its all custom work on it and KBB is 2500 bucks. thats bout how much new tires and wheels with the other little stuff i need will be to fix it. Motor for the dmax might be gettin pulled soon for another stocker if this gets dragged out

I tried to deal with the other insurance co when a 16 yr old girl rearended me at 50mph while I was sitting still and it didn't take long for me to realize it wasn't worth the hassle. I went and got a lawyer and let them take care of it.

i Totally understand and im with ya on the dead guy LOL but to put it in perspective,if you were a sec slower or he was a sec faster things could have been alot worse or you could be the dead guy on the pavement.....THANK GOD YOUR HERE BUD!!!!!! :thumb:

yup, i couldnt agree more. lots of thing could have happened that wouldnt have ended well for me but i cant hinder on those. Im never goin that way to work again though. after looking at why i didnt see him its pretty clear. there are bushes covering the corner that you cant see around and the cement barrier is hard to see over as well since you are going up hill into the intersection.

Thank you! I was about to swap a chevy luv 2.2 diesel in a few months before the diesel bent a rod but those plans got thrown aside. I also put a turbo on it for a bit but the stock fuel system couldnt keep up so that got ditched. at this point, it crawls so well (or it did) i dont care to really give it mroe power. thats what the diesel is for

Little update. My back is still screwed up and hasnt gotten better. Hell i can hardly bend or twist without some kind of pain, let alone pick something up. Had the adjustor come out and made him take a detailed list of all the aftermarket part that were put on it along with copys of all the receipts (we have every receipt from everything thats been done to it). And the police report finally came out showing the guy was at fault and received two tickets. Callin the insurance tomorrow to get their asses goin, specially since i picked up a rental car for the time being.

I dont really care for this thing but beggers cant be choosers. Its the only chevy they had on the lot (i wanted a camaro lol)

Anyone got a tune for it
