Ok guys so I'm young and dumb and blew up my lbz a few months back. My engine now has wagler rods mahle pistons arp studs and everything was machined and redone in the bottom end. I couldn't afford new injectors so I had exergy test mine and had 2 with high returns so I replaced 3 with remans from injectors direct. Trying my best to not cut corners and taking as much time as it take to do this right. I'm nervous tho reading different forums everybody says have a shop do it but i couldn't afford the labor costs with parts. I bought 60 nozzles and installed them myself. I watched industrial injections video on DIY nozzles. I took my time and made sure my pucks were laying flat also I cleaned the nozzle caps as much as possible. I have the injectors installed now. So I'm 20 years old with a mild built duramax doing everything besides the bottom end build. I had a reputable shop build the bottom end and install arp studs all around. How much of a risk did I take finishing this build? I know a little about the lbz and I've been following a duramax engine manual. What are the biggest things I need to be looking for before I try firing up this engine? What's something I could've missed? How badly could I have messed this up without even knowing? I think I'm alright on my end. What do you think?

Mixing random brand nozzles in a set is a huge no no. There is a reason why exergy sends flow sheets.
As for injectors direct. You pretty much just bought some used injectors that got cleaned.

Shouldn't these things be asked beforehand?

Looking forward to a video of this thing when done. What turbo set up are you running? Did you crack a piston and had to rebuild or bend rods or what?

Well it was also for anything else I need to remember as I put the engine back together. Tricks/tips/dangers. If you don't understand why don't reply

Lol to this one not being a jerk but like everyone said you made some huge no no's . Also if you can't afford to do it then don't . Diesels aren't exactly cheap when it comes to making power

No big power here just DD 650-675 whp. I do realize that they don't get any cheaper as you go up. But when it does run fine I'll post a video of Dyno run

Know how pissed you'll be when one of your fresh garbage sticks hangs up and smokes a piston during the first pull

Id recommend priming the oiling system before startup. Double check EVERYTHING before moving on to the next step. A good torque wrench is needed, and loctite is your friend.

BTW, you dont have to be "young and dumb" to blow one of these engines up. Used to be a badge of honor around here if you made enough power to have to rebuild. ;)

Don't let these guys scare ya. Did my own tip swaps some years ago on my lly, still running. And just swapped two on my 04 Dodge couple months back.

Also ID actually has the real Bosch test bench, not some knock off. Zero issues with any injectors from there in my experience.

I just so happen to own a set of new Exergy 120's that's smoked 2 built Mahle piston engines in under 10 hours running. They have been bench checked at exergy once, and ID twice in that same 10hr period. I have all the test sheets, and still afraid of them. So go figure...
