But so should the driver of the camper. He could have killed his family because he was careless.

Look at the pillar on the right. It detaches 100% from the structure.

Seems they built a column out cinder block on a slab then just set a roof on it. Earthquake, wind, ground shift, fat man leaning against it, would have pushed it over.

where did you go to school? I noticed your in Texas....

I'm a recent transplant to TX. I went to the University of Wyoming.

My wife's grandmother used to refer to me as the "damn yankee":joker: Although I was caught the other day saying I was "fixin to..."

Need more info to be sure. It is possible the Engineer did nothing wrong and the contractor and/or inspector cut corners during construction. Or, worse yet, they didn't use an Engineer on the job... they used an architect instead:rolleyes: (for those that don't know, engineers and architects rarely get along very well).

Not only could he have killed his family, but what if there were other cars in the other lanes completely under the "awning". They would not have had a chance.
