I acquired a billet ats flex plate from a friend. Hick Town creations"built" and installed his trans and not very long after he got it home the torque convertor bolts came loose and eventually sheared off/came undone. Needless to say another one of their screw ups needed fixed. Anyhow this brings me to my question. I have my trans out now changing some parts out and was thinking about using this billet flex plate. I can see a couple of the holes in it, for the torque bolts, are a bit oblong. But not bad. The bolts have more movement in the stock flex plate. And also on the surface of this billet flex plate its scored a bit all the way around from it rubbing the torque convertor after the bolts let loose. So my question is should i chance using this or stick with my already installed BD flexplate? Max 650rwhp this truck will see. Heres a pic. Thanks guys in advance. Decisions decisions.

It's got 12 holes in it. Use the 6 unused holes. Don't used supplied bolts from the converter company. Use longer ones. Do your measurements.

I think thats what they did, they used the regular factory ones. Only thing with the twelve hole theory is the other six all line up but one is like an oval instead of a circle, ATS must have wanted it to go on with the other six holes. Mike where would i get longer bolts that are rated for the converter?

So if we used a billet flywheel, do we need longer bolts than what the converter company supplies? I've got a socal billet one and I used the bolts that came with my suncoast 1053. Haven't had a problem yet in a year and over 1000whp but now I'm curious.
