2006 LBZ. 177,650 miles
This started outa the blue on Wednesday afternoon... It was 35C (near 95F), for that last week.
First P2149. Cleared the code with my Banks. ran fine for 10 miles..then threw it again. Called buddy - he says Ice pick it. Ok...did that. still no joy. Ice picked again to make sure I was able to crimp both spades and still same result.
My understanding is this. When i clear the code the engine runs normally at idle..go under load and at say ~50+ mph..it bucks a bit and then limps with the P2149.
so I figure I must have some connectivity, if I didn't have any, it would simply "limp" all on its own similar to not having the connector on at all. So I've got some..but not 100% good to go kind.
Plan:
I will get some contact cleaner and make sure both the connector and the injector receptacle are as clean of any corrosion as I can make it.
I would like to know if there is an issue as reported by many LLY owners that the injection harness leading to the FICM is similarly tie wrapped to the alternator. I simply do not know what to look for here as I do not know if an LBZ even has an FICM and if so, where it might be located. I will however take a look and see what I can see if there is anything that is chafed or worn through at that location
Any other suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated guys..!! I simply do not know where to go from there.
I have as a bit of insurance, ordered the harness kit for 2/7 and it should be here by mid week just in case.
Thank you,
Theo
