I guess I should have known it would be metric. My search says the pins are 5mm and this one mesurments 5.17mm. The one on my crank best I can tell is 4.95mm. So unless I'm missing something there ain't no way it's a pin. All the pins I saw are polished and this has been Blued.
I'm going to swing by a local diesel shop and barrow a damper install tool. See if they have any input acually being able to lay eyes on it.
