I know I shouldn't stir the pot, but I can't help it. :D

I hauled this load with my truck today. Yes, I know I need air bags! I actually ordered some on Monday. Gross weight was right at 29k lbs. The truck handled the weight just fine, but the wind drag was pretty bad. I was running 4th gear at about 55 mph to try to keep from melting the engine. I averaged 7.5 mpg with about 1/3 of the miles being an empty trailer. It definitely took some fuel to keep it moving.

How much is yours lowered? I am thing on doing a 2 in drop in the back to get the CV half way level for normal driving without the ass being to high in the air.

The back is lowered almost 5" total.

What bag kit did u order for yours? And how many leafs are removed? And u moved your shackles mounts on frame also to hide them by roll pan correct?

Thats a huge load for the wind to catch. Pretty impressive to say the least.

Not sagging? Hmmmmm ok.
Id imagine if truck was 3 inches taller or trailer pin was raised to level the trailer it might pull it easier.
It's not sagging more than 2.5 inches because that's all the room there is between the frame and axle, and I know they touched more than a couple of times because I could hear it on every decent bump! :roflmao: I wondered the same about trying to level the trailer some, but I just don't think it would make that much of a difference.

I ordered the universal PacBrake kit that mounts on top of the leaf spring. My leafs are completely in tact. I did raise the shackle mount, but the total drop is still about 5" total.

The front is just decranked torsion bar bolts, the rear is a DJM 5" drop kit. Here's how it sits unloaded.

Love the look, and the stance. Looks killer. Id like to do mine being i wont use it for snow plowing anymore, but im affraid goin out west hunting might be tough with a lowered truck due to clearance. Dont know tho, never have owned one.

I dont think you would have been happy towing 29k lowered or not! Thats a hell of a load for any duramax especially a 3/4 ton.

not really... biggest problem is wind drag... it would pull better if he tarpped it.

he is about maxed out axle/tire wise with that setup

i run up to 26k with probably 200-300 less hp then josh has on a daily basis.
