If I bought a truck to race or sled pull, I would leave it 100% factory height. A lifted truck has a huge disadvantage. That's why I don't do either with my truck. I simply like how my truck looks, that's it.

X2 on WHAT TOM SAID- I HAD a rcd 6" lift and 35s on the truck, and it does hinder alot of things, pita to get into every day, track times are going to suck, steering parts get pounded more, braking sucks, and trailer towing also suffers. i took everything off, put some poly bushings in the upper and lower a-arms (so the a-arms dont deflect in the huge factory rubber bushings), a straight centerlink and topped it off with rancho 9000s all around. much better

i dont want a big lifted truck i just want something a little different. i know guys use a 4in lift for pulling and i like how the truck looks a little higher, im not worried about getting in or out. and id think with the keys all the way down it wouldnt hurt the steering to much.

and im not really worried about track times being 1-2 tenths worse then if i didnt have the lift. i think the TTs will help me there.

get the utility knife out and put your 35's on now :D

Our LB7 has 35's on it now with just the bars cranked, but it took more then a utility knife to make that happen... more like a cut off wheel, 3lb hammer, and a hand full of zip ties:eek: not ready to take the hammer and grinder to the LLY yet:rolleyes::)

On my 4" kit with the bolts about 3 turns up just to keep tension on the bolts everything in my front end is either negative or completely straight. The 4" lift has better front end geometry than stock. I guarantee you that my frontend components will out last a stock hieght truck:cool:

I would imagine the only reason for it would be to get the clearence for the tires. I just think if a truck was dedicated or at least see's very little daily use that the money would be better spent elswhere. Not sayin that you can't drive one of these trucks that is set up to race or sledpull. just my opinion.

Don't flame me.....
