if you want a race truck then no but if you want a truck more for looks then i say go for the lift. you can still race and pull with the lift but your track times will suffer a little

I personally would not put a lift on the truck. I see no advantage, and alot of hinderences (axle wrap, cv angles, stress on frontend components, not to mention power loss from bigger/heavier rolling stock) on the sled track and the strip.

Like everyone else said if racing is priority then no. but if your truck is going to do it all, Racing/sled/DD then I say YES IMHO... No more ajusting the T-bars and a great stance....

The CV angles should be better aswell as the rest of the front end geometry with a 4" such as the Cognito or Tough country.. There are quite a few guys doing really well pulling with the 4" T.C.

Don't lift it, lifted trucks don't look good at all to me and the fact of the matter is your truck will be all around a better truck if you leave it the way it is as far as suspension goes.

I am not real big into lifted trucks do to the fact I tow so much, and I hate changein the trailers neck depth all the time. You will just be makein your turck less economical, more rolling mass, more wind drag, etc...

If you are after looks than go for it, it's not my thing but some people really like it. It's your truck

I run a 4" TC lift and love it. Its great for sled pulling but will effect your drag times severely. If you are in the market I will sell you mine cause I want a 6":D

How much I am in the market for a 4" T.C. if the price is right:D By effecting you drag times severely, what is you definition of severely? I would think a 4" lift alone would not effect your overall times much:confused:

To date I have lost almost .2 tenths in the 1/4 and the only thing I have changed is the lift and I am running 33's and the lift compared to running stock on 265's. Granted I had traction issues this past time at the track but I will gain the lost time back somehow:D

The 4" TC lift weighs 210lbs and all the stuff you remove off the truck to install the lift weighs about 100+lbs. I think my biggest wieght gain is in the tires and wheels

Exactly if you ran with stock PYO's and some 275 or 285 street tires the weight would be a little more offset as opposed to running big heavy wheels and tires.

Thats exactly what I was thinking 1-2 tenths for the lift alone, not counting the extra tire mass, wheels, etc.. I plan on getting a 4" in the near future but keeping my 285's for the strip and 35's for the DD..... But I am not going for an all out race truck either if I was it would be a reg cab and sitting lower then factory....;) So how about that lift???????:D

I am shopping around for a 6", this 4" hasnt even been on the truck 4 months, i just want to run a set of 33x15.50 MTZ's for pulling next season and the 4" set all the way down is not gonna cut it. I wish I would have known this when I bought the lift as I would have just bought the 6" for 200 extra and been done with it. I am just weighing the money lost in selling a used lift and buying a new one:eek:

I have been dragging my feet on the lift for a few months now, I bought the wheels and tires a couple of months ago (35/12.5/18's) but I still want to make this truck faster at the same time.. decisions, decisions... I have also been contemplating getting the 6" and runing it down around 4 3/4 - 5" so I could clear the 35's without to much hacking... Anyways, if you decide to part with it P.M. me I might be interested...

I will be honest you will be hard pressed to fit the 35's under the 4" TC with the Tbars unloaded. I run with mine all the way down all the time. Just a couple turns to keep tension on the keys. My CV angles are almost negative but I can just clear 33's on 10" wide wheels with 4.5" BS just trimming of the lower valance. The 35's would be a tigh fit IMHO. I wish I would have just gone with the 6" and leave it all the way down
