How many of you guys run in a work stock class? I have been reading into work stock rules, nadm just says a stock appearing turbo. How many of you guys travel and run at the big work stock pulls? Watched some videos and it seems to be a very competitve class, any thoughts?

I pull in workstock out here with my stock charger. One club it was a 2.5 stock appearing class and another it was a stock charger class. I've traveled around a little bit and always been competitive.... But thats not saying I don't want a stock appearing 2.5 to run lol

I pulled this season in south-central pa area. Just have traction bars, pulling hitch, sleeves, and a tony burkhard brace. Lift pump and efi live for power and I was usually top 5 at the local RWYB events. The last pull of the season was a big end of the year event that brought out a lot of stock appearing modified chargers, injectors, and lockers front/rear. The truck still seem to do well, I got 7th outta like 30ish trucks. A good setup will take you far in sled pulling, it's not all about making big power. Good rule of thumb is get your setup ironed out before you try to add a ton of power. Another thing I try to do is only change 1 thing at a time. That way you know what helps and what doesn't.

I have travelled a long distance for 1 pull but I have only pulled in 6 workstock classes this year of those I won 4 of them with a second and a third in the other 2 .As these guys have said setup and paying attention to the track mean the most .
Also the rules differ in this class from place to place .
I am gonna try to hit more next year .

I pulled work stock this year always placed in to the top 10 had one first place and one second place. I pulled on a 300,000 mile stock turbo. set up is key in pulling not just hp.

cool thanks guys, i am going back and forth on pulling work stock or 2.6. 2.6 has gotten so crazy, i bought a truck and am working and hoping to have it done for next year. its hard to find a work stock class, and then people get upset about turbos in the work stock class. some say stock appearing and others say stock unmodified. i checked out the bob guys and they say stock unmodified, nadm says stock appearing.

I always call ahead to pulls if its not a familiar hook for me and let them know what I have for a turbo and all . Some people hate the cheetah style chargers , but I think I have the perfect truck for a double duty:thumb: ( I even drive mine to the pulls )

Bob, 90% sure will be 2.5 next year for the workstock instead of stock unmodified. Too much cheating going on with the stock turbos. I will update on the 8th, that's when the decision will be made.

that would be pretty cool, do you pull with them much? i really like the work stock stuff just because it is almost as competitive as some of the bigger classes!

Pretty sure NADM is going to follow with 2.5 turbo rules as well. At least that's what I've read. I haven't checked back recently to see if anything was finalized.

Heres the unofficial turbo rule. 95% sure there won't be a change to it.

So I will have to get a new wheel and cover for me to run in the workstock class this year ?

I was wondering how many people would have to go out and buy a new wheel/cover since the stock appearing has been around for quite some time. I know most of the guys are running 66/68mm wheel setups. It'd be nice to be able to say, as long as the turbo is a 2.5 cover, but that would be starting down the same road as 2.6 class is now.

For me personally, there isn't any classes, organizations around that run an actual workclass. Most of the local pulls are poorly organized and simply make it RWYB so they don't have to tech.

I'm just glad to see them ruin another class. Good luck to you pullers, drag racing is way less of a pain in the ass. Pockets don't have to be as deep to have fun either.

Being that I have to travel further for most ws class pulls I go to I am not sure that I will " downgrade " to a smaller wheel . Thats another $1000 I can put somewhere else in the truck . I was only able to pull in 6 ws classes anyway last year , so most likely I will just play in the 2.6 class around here and start to phaze myself out of pulling .
