Won't start after complete rebuild.

I am helping a friend out, I can't seem to get it to fire. I have bleed the fuel lines/fuel filter. Keep pumping it will it's cranking and nothing. I tried for a hour. Old motor and computer were tuned with efi live. I used CPU that came with motor I rebuilt. Do I need to use original computer? Truck use to be a built pulling truck, owner wanted it completely stock, so that's what I have done. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Do you have a way to verify you are getting adequate fuel pressure when trying to start up?

I have a gauge, but the truck has a fass pump on it. I opened the bleeder while it was running and I have a good supply of pressure. I checked it at the gauge port and same thing. Hand primer gets so hard. I can't pump
It. I have checked several times for air. It seems as if it's all out up to the cp3

I will do that. I will have to get ahold of another buddy to see if I can use his efi live. Do I need another license since I changed CPU? I know I can use it to read pids on any truck.

I sent all 8 injectors and cp3 to Columbus diesel about a year ago. They said it was all good and charged me 400. I doubt the really checked them, just put new prongs on them and sent them back to me.

I'm trying to get the original efi live and computer that they tuned the truck with, but the owners son could care less.

Yes sir the security light is blinking. It comes on sometimes during cranking. The truck is a 02 and has set for 5 years without a engine. I took on the job in February. I'm burnt out on it and want to get it done.

Just so I know, what all conditions need to be met for the truck to start? I will try the vats after work tonight. I will also use my test light to see if the injectors are getting the signal etc. I'm mainly asking for the efi live say I should see xxx amount of rail pressure, this many counts on the crankshaft and camshaft etc. I'm just asking now that way I know what to look for when I finally get it hooked up.

Not yet. I am working on getting the efi live. I started taking the ECM out of the truck to put the original back in, even though it will have a sled pulling tune on it. I had slot of other obligations today.

I'll try it this afternoon, or tomorrow. I'm trying to get some dirt work finished up on my place and get ready for some grass seed.

It runs. I swaped the ECM turned it on pumped the primer till hard, and it fired right up. I got a oil leak coming out around the starter. It lost about a quart in the half hour I let it run. Could my dipstick tube be cracked? Also I got a coolant leak at the oil cooler where the 90 degree piece bolts from the cooler to the flywheel housing. It's leaking where the oil cooler bolts to the 90 degree piece. Any thoughts on these to leaks.
