I'm thinking way in the future for mine..... but i have a federal truck so the LLY injectors and heads would be a nice touch but retain what i love the most... great fuel mileage with a wastegated turbo.... Oh, and the sweet sound !

I'm thinking just Heads, injectors, Harness, ECM and FICM. Then with EFI live remove the VVT and all emissions stuff that i dont have. Use my stock intake manifolds and intercooler plumbing.

What would one gain fromt his? The LLY's are a bit quieter then the LB7's. The Injectors would no longer be a huge burden should something go wrong with one....

wait nvmind scratch that. I forgot you have a 2002. You will go insane trying to convert it to an LLY. Nothing plugs together and even if you spend days cutting and hacking the harness together, the instrument cluster and stuff still wont work.

Only LB7's that are fairly easilly "convertable" to LLY's are the 03-04's. Obviously in 03 they had the MCE and overhauled the electrical architecture, the 02 and earlier electrical architecture is not in anyway compatible with LLY engine management systems.

DOH !

That was the bad news i was expecting....

I didn't think about the cluster and all that good stuff.... I was focused on the engine bay...

Oh well.

Ya with the 03-04 LB7's, the LLY harness is already compatible with the UBEC and plugs right in, as well as the other body harnesses that go through the firewall. I know thats not the answer you wanted to hear though. :(

Something ive conmtemplated doing for some time now, main reason...
I HATE LB7 INJECTORS WITH A PASSION! Other than that i love the LB7, however i was gonna dub mine the "LBX" kinda like a spin-off of an LSX hence the badassness:rofl::D

I still will look into this a little deeper. Even if i don't follow through with it... i'd like to see hat it would take....

I was hoping this thread would become little bit more informative. but i guess we need some schematics and what not to see what it would take....
