Guess I'm too laate for my opinion, but I got 5% all over, and 30% on the ws. Absolutley love it!!!
I did 5% on everything and absolutely love it. Im dying to put 20-30% on the front windshield!

I know he said he wasnt worried about the legal part or not, but i was also wanting to get this myself.I was just wandering if its legal at all (if so, how dark), and how much do the cops mess with you guys?

IIRC it is illegal everywhere to tine the front windshield at all. I heard in some states you can do no more than 80% on the WS. As far as front side 2, that vary by state, most are around 35%. The back sides and back window can be as dark as you want.
So far every car/truck I have owned has been 5% on all. this is the first that I went 35% on front. Here are the issues I had with tint..
Arizona - My 2000 Mustang - 5% tint:
Got pulled over on interstate driving speed limit (actually got passed by another car as soon as trooper saw me). He pulled me over for window tint alone. He tested it, said it was 3%, then I told him is was 5% and he tested again and came up with 0% :spit:, then said I admitted to 5% which is still illegal, so I got a $50 ticket and was told to remove, I paid the ticket, and left tint on. I was living in Colorado at the time.
Iowa - My LMM - 5% tint:
Pulled over after driving passed a trooper in median. Going speed limit. Same deal as Arizona. Pulled me over for tint alone. Never tested it. Was quick to give me a ticket. Take it all off and show them in 10 days or pay I think it was $70. I paid the $70 and left it on.
Colorado: my 2000 mustang - 5% tint:
State trooper pulled me over for speeding. Also said my tint was way too dark. Gave me a warning on the tint, and a ticket for speeding. Told me it looks good on my car being a black car, but I should go get it lightened up some or I could get a ticket for it. Never messed with about tint again in Colorado.
Nevada - all my cars/trucks - 5% tint:
Lol, You can get away with about anyhting here. IF you get a ticket here, you were being pretty stupid. I have been stopped a few times and never once did they say anything about tint. Everyone has it dark here, including the cop cars :spit: Thats why I'm not worried about doing it dark here.
California - my LMM - 5% tint:
Pulled up on a crash. Was waiting and the motorcycle cop came over and started chatting with me while tow truck loaded up car. He told me my windows were too dark, he could write me up (he saw the pass. window rolled up). He said it was illegal and that I should lighten them up but he laughed about giving me a ticket. When I said I'm from Vegas and its cool there, he said "Oh, never mind. Don't worry about it, you would burn up out there without tint. If I lived in Vegas, mine would be the same" then smiled. and Bs'ed about my truck and traffic and other crap lol.
Theres may cases of tint, hope it helps some because it was a lot of typing :rofl:
Ive had mine at 1.3%(tested) and live in 3 states andhavnt had a problem except once in CO on a cloudy day when I had allmy windows down and the officer couldnt see through my windshield. lol
I don't even know were to begin i'v gotten some many tint tickets The last one was over my 50% windshield for a 127.00 bucks the guy told me to take it off right there on the side of the road or take the ticket i said i'll take the ticket seeing how you don't have a meter to verify whats on there i took it to court but had a new windshield put on do to the crack in the tinted one when they sent me and a officer out to look at it all was good and the ticket was dismissed and i payed them 0.00 what a waste of time and money 
I will get the entire windshield done 50% again after they fix/replace the new one that leaks. Once you do the entire WS you will never own a vehicle any other way it's soooooooooooo nice and i'm messing it
