I'm just curious I have a lb7 stock ihi laying around the only thing wrong with it is the blades on the face of the compressor wheel are worn down pretty bad due to the fact that the truck it came off was a farm truck and it obviously experienced unfilterd dusty air for quite some time before the leak was found and the charger was replaced because of lack of power it was going to be junked and I told my friend I'll take it and rebuild it so I got the charger for free now I'm debating what I should do with it I'm going to rebuild it with new bushings and bearings clean it all up but I'm curious to know the lly's have 63mm comp wheels and Im wondering if I can have the ihi compressor housing and faceplate machined out for a 63mm lly batmowheel and keep the factory turbine wheel and shaft of the ihi just have it balanced afterwards I'm trying to do this on a budget but maintain a sleeper status while not breaking the bank I'm open to suggestions would this work or should I replace the stock wheel with another stock wheel and keep it for a spare stocker thanks in advance

Holy run-on sentence Batman. :spit:

Why not ask YellowChevy if he has any used LB7 wheels in good condition that he might sell?

The thread pitch on the LLY-LBZ is different than the IHI; the nut is part of the comp wheel on them as well. The bore on the LLY-LBZ's are also smaller than the bore of an IHI wheel. The step down/size in diameter on the LLY-LBZ's is different than the IHI so you can't install an LLY turbine wheel on the center section of the IHI.

Obviously all these things can be over come with machining but it wouldn't exactly be cheap, haha.

As long as the compressor wheel hasn't contacted the housing to bad you can get another stock wheel or aftermarket one. Or you could get a 63.5mm wheel and have the compressor cover machined.
