Will These Tire Fit?

I have a 06 LBZ and am thinking of putting on some 285/75R16. The wheels are 16x8. Right now I am running 265/75/r16. Will the 285's fit and will I need to do any trimming and leveling to get them to fit?

Depending on your wheel BS trimming\leveling might be needed. I like to start with trimming so you don’t mess Ride quality or wear.

Gotcha! I think the backspacing is around 4.5"

I run 285/75/16 ko2’s on my stock 07 classic wheels, cranked up the stock front end and had to slightly trim the front of the wheel well.

Before you put 285 on the stock 6.5 wide alloys, you best do a search on rim failures.
I have seen the lips wear down to knife blades from the tires spinning on the rims!

Been running the same size tires for years. Ran them with a lance camper on my truck and sometimes towing too. No problems. The tire shop did recommend .5 wider rims. Thanks I’ll keep an eye on them.

I'm not buying it. How low of pressure does one have to run to allow the tire to slip on the rim? I'd like to see some photos or proof of this

Holy crikey that took nearly 2 years for that guy to respond. That actually is impressive.

Funny this comes up though, I can't wait to get 285/75 on my PYOs. Should be good with a slight turn of the keys and my bumper lift.

The problem I had with 285/75 on stockers was they wore out quicker. The center of the tire would wear out faster than the sides. I tried all different air pressures too. Once I went to an 8' rim the tires wear evenly.
Never heard about the tires spinning. That guy hasn't been on in over a year and half also.

I would do an 8" but I can't find any wheels I like. Plus I like the old man stock look. Maybe I will step down to a 265/75r16 instead of that.

Wheel widening would be my favorite option but that's about $200 a wheel I believe.
