Info: Will it go faster with a lift pump

My ppe pump is wide open. I say let her eat wide open. U may maintain good rail pressure now but im sure its still droppin pretty rapid. You may not notice much on bottom end maybe a little more smoke. But your top end should be alot more peppy. Atleast u held out and you will give us info. I dont no it help my lly Mucho time. Will it help the lmm??:confused:


yea well will seeei im actually reallu interested after all this time and diffrent mods to see if it makes a diffrence should have a answer thurs at the track 1/8 mile and fri at famoso for the 1/4 mile runs

The extra 8 amp draw at 12 volts could cost you about .15HP at the alternator, resulting in the truck slowing .001 second and dropping 5 millionths of a MPH or so.

Meh... if it's not dropping rail pressure it's a waste of time.

I can't believe it holds rail!! You should really put a vacum gauge in there Tommy and see what it is pulling. At idle, mine pulls -2psi with no lift pump. And I think GM changes the fuel filter after -5psi.

I can't believe it holds rail!! You should really put a vacum gauge in there Tommy and see what it is pulling. At idle, mine pulls -2psi with no lift pump. And I think GM changes the fuel filter after -5psi.

Hes holdin rail press because of the twin CP3s

Normally u gotta get the fuel TO the CP3 first.
Too much sucky sucky = cavitation = loss of rail : Twins or Not.

yea, i understand what your sayin but, not as much sucky sucky going on since there is two cp3 and once he gets the rails up on psi they arent droppin cause the less sucky sucky means they are gonna spit more:p. Single cp3 lmm suck rails down just like lbz on big tune.

But I disagree. Sort of. If for example he pumps 1 gal/min, whether he pumps it with 1 pump or 6, it's still 1 gal/min. What I don't understand is how he can get 1 gal/min from the tank to the cp3's without cavitating.

However now that I think about it, I guess he has 2 pumps drawing fuel down the line instead of just 1 which helps. Same suction, but split up between two pumps. I think it would work with one CP3 as well IF the pump on the back of the CP3 which draws fuel from the tank was bigger. Hence the reason for requiring the lift pump with a single CP3 with big tunes.

I guess it proves that stock lines CAN flow enough fuel. Just our little lift pumps on the CP3 can't keep up.

I think your right about the cavitation for sure i can def see tht aspect of it and i do think the lift pump will helpit will be interesting to see how much

Yea, i see what your saying, the lil pumps in the cp3's are way underpowered and im sure it will help some but i just dont really see how with times and power. If Tommy is at 25,000psi when he goes thru the finish line in the quarter mile he is at max power???

I think with the lift pump he might have the ability to pump out more fuel but wont because of the stock injectors, stock rails, etc.

LOL and i could of bought ont before my dual fueler went on one of 2 turbos modded fuel reg and wht ever else lol chads got me covered should be here soon
