I halfway agree with you . Less torque multiplication will be less likely to spin the tires out of the hole which should move propel and move the truck on out of there instead of spinning . Currently my best 60' and 1/8 has been in tune 3 . Tune 4 has netted the best 1/4 mile but it still spun a little with a 60' of 1.503 versus a 1.44 in tune 3 . Tune 5 just spun way too much . I'm hoping that by going to 3.42s it will allow me to launch in tune 5 and increase my MPH and lower my 60' and ET. I was wondering what kind of luck others have had with the gear change
Yea near impossible to tell when you changed turbo setups and gears at all the same time . I'm planning on doing 3.42s everything else is staying the same with exception to a large Derale tranny cooler with fan . I'm guessing your MPH definitely picked up with that much difference in ET .
Whats your end RPM through the traps? Need to see where you make peak power and then compare it to RPM and see where your setup starts to run past its peak. I want to say 3.73 to 3.42 lowered top gear RPM by about 300rpm.
I'm at about 4200 crossing the finish line with the 3.73s and 30" tall DRs , keep in mind that was in tune 4 . I haven't had the truck on a dyno so I don't know where peak power is . It comes alive right away and pulls super hard all the way thru . Even when I leave under desired Boost/RPM it comes alive right away . If you look at my videos on my Brag and Drag thread you'll see what I'm talking about .
Mark all my common sense tells me the truck should 60' better , MPH higher and lower the ET just because of the power and torque my setup is making . Hopefully my common sense is spot on . Gears will be in in the next month then it's off to the races
