Not a dmax but i was getting absolutely fed up with working on her 01 ford fucus (not a typo lol), not to metion i was afraid of it breaking down on her in the middle of rush hour. hell it left her on the side of the road 4 times back a few years back.

We were gunna wait till the new colorado's came out this summer but i really didnt mind the looks and interiors of the older ones nor did she. So i kept an eye out for a newer used rig with low miles and good price when this one popped up and we snagged it. 2008 GMC Canyon SLE crew cab super short bed, 3.7 I5 w/ auto, 2wd w/ Z71 package and only 56,000 miles on her. Shes very excited and im very relieved she will have a reliable rig now, not to metion i can steal it every once and while to tow my samurai if she lets me . Also ordered her a nice pioneer indash so she can use bluetooth with her phone and play music from it. her old fucus really didnt have much to it so this is a big step up for her :D.

I cant see the pic but that sounds like a nice little truck, my fiance wants want in the worst way as her S-10 has 199,000 miles on it. I work on a lot of them and just as a heads up you should look into whether the 3.7s have valve issues, i know the 3.5s do and head gaskets are a pita as you have to pull the front diff, oil pan, and front cover to reset the timing chain tensioner. Also have fun doing front brakes and when the wires to the doors break just replace the door harness instead of trying to fix them.....

3.7 has the updated head so valves shouldnt be an issue. front brakes are no more of biggy than changing the hubs on a dmax. im already planning on wrapping the door wires up to keep from chafing as well as fix the ground ditribution block on both fenders as it causes blower motor/resistor issues for the HVAC.

regardless, i have the tooling, scanners, and know how to really keep this thing running for a long damn time. i was a tech for a good long while and started specializing in GM stuff. her fucus, not so much. specially when window regs break, door locks break internally, motor mounts go every 20-30k, trans goes every 60k, fuel pump every 60k, sway bar end links every 30k, spark plugs and wires every 30k, coolant thermostat housing every few years cause its plastic in this heat, jsut fixed a dieing electric fan, and on and on and on and on. not even my samurai has this many issues and wrench on that thing quite a bit.

How long until it's turbocharged. Any bets?

lol its what she wants. if she wants a 6.0, it will drop in. if she wants it turbocharged or supercharged, it will go on. shes already told me how much she loves the sound of a nice cam in a v8 :D

Lol she don't like them, calls them the new "soccer mom" cars and she wants to be different. She had lots of options, even told me she would take a duramax but a crew cab short bed won't fit on her side of the garage and she wants it in the garage lol
