OK, perhaps coco and I have different definitions of "gobs". If the dielectric grease is thick enough that it could be pushing the metal contacts out of alignment or preventing contact, then yes, it needs removed. Mine fills up all the cavities in the connectors, but doesn't need to squish out of the way.

Perhaps it is a good idea to remove it...

OK so i dont know how to do the multiple quote thing, so i will try to address this all at once.
Yes the maf is in correctly
I removed all the grease using mineral spirits, applied w/qtips. No change in condition
I used 6 mil plastic to cover the engine when i pressure washed the radiator, i cleaned the engine and vitals by hand and pressurized air.
There are no electrical connections un-connected except the egr system and air intake heater grid, these were turned off in my efi live tune, so after 5 wks of the battery being disconnected could this mess the tune up? Still seems odd, and if my timing or something is off, could i bend a rod?
The soaked connector thing i can understand, and have had it happen before. I mentioned i cleaned the engine cuz it is something i did since it was parked. That was like 2wks ago tho, and the weather has been in the 80's so i think it should be pretty dry by now.
Thanks for your thought into this and input. I will hopefully get it figured out soon, injector failure or my negligence, i still just cant believe it. I bought all these nice upgrades, installed them and now it has an injector issue, not the thanks i was looking for from the truck, fer sure.

May take a little work but swap an injector around and see if the problem follows to that cylinder . That way you would know if it is a injector or connection problem.

Yes you can put the #8 injector up front in #2 and see if you get a #2 cylinder misfire or just pull the #8 injector and send it off to get checked or if you want to be fast and have the $ just replace #8 with a new injector.

Yes i have seen a few ECM's lose memory after being disconnected from the battery for periods of time but everyone i have seen the ECM lost all memory and the trucks wouldnt even start.

If you have a V2 do a full flash over your tune you have now. I doubt that is the issue though.

No i doubt bent rod unless you have been losing coolant into a cylinder and when you started the truck it bent a rod or cracked a piston. If the injector crack was bad enough it could lose fuel into the cylinder and cause the same issue as well. So i guess it is possible? If i were you i would just replace the injector and see what happens. That would probably be the cheapest route.

You can also pull the #8 glow plug and see if coolant or fuel comes out. You can also do a compression check on that cylinder through te glow plug port.

I didnt see anywhere what year your truck is. Is it a 05 LLY?

Oh i see LBZ. Shit just swap the injectors from one cylinder to another. Be pretty easy and fast way to see if the misfire follows that injector. BE VERY CAREFUL when removing the injector return line. They break very easy.

Did you disconnect the main harness plugs on the drivers side of the motor? 2 bigger connectors that have the cam lock handles on them. If you did pull those apart to make sure you didnt accidentally roll a pin over somewhere. I have done this before and it caused me all kinds of fits. Good luck :thumb:

No pin folded.
still stumped, but i really feel like this is a tune issue.
the batteries were disconnected for five weeks. The truck ran perfect, i go to start it and it instantly starts but runs like crap. Everything is in its place. I may just take it to rob(via tow truck)

Not sure the model engine, but if you pressure washed and hit the FICM, you probably flooded the thing. The breather is not water tight. At least not from a pressure washer blast.

If this were the problem, what is the solution?
