I've had a vlocker (thats German for Blocker..LOL), plate in since 2 weeks after getting my truck in Apr 2007. That was at 37,000 miles, I'm just shy of 175,000 miles and the plate is still in and no gaseous leaks there at all.
I have heard/read somwhere however that by keeping ones EGR blocked it may cause issues of corrosion/acid within, to or about the egr cooler potenitally causing leaks. I am not sure if I have that correct, but would like to know from those of you who have had your egr blocked and then decided to remove the whole system.
Other than being rewarded with significantly more space and easier acess to the motor, is there any other reason (as per above), as to why one would want to do so..??
Thanx,
Theo
