Why not Ford !!!

Man I have to rant a bit. I am so sick of working on fords, it seems thats all I see lately. I had a guy with a ford say to me "You shore do work on a lot of fords, seems you know alot about em. Why don't you own a Ford?" My answer was... DUH! needless to say he didn't think it was funny, but I have had enough!

Ford had a tip on the bad economy and built lemons to keep you guys busy. You should be thankful ford is trying to help out.

i hate em i just been dealing with my 04 6.0 slugchoke with rotted oil pan, bad injectors, exhaust manifold gaskets, egr crapped out, and the unison plate for the vgt, and the vgt sensor, and next i havve to take the tank down to clean it out due to the lineing comeing off. the worse part is how ford sharpens every corner so u get cut no matter what u touch.

It takes a lot of money up front but once all the issues are addressed they do pretty good. A buddy/customer of mine had me do P&P and o-ringed heads, studs, good gaskets, new 205cc injectors, remote mounted oil cooler, deleted the egr cooler, upgraded vgt turbo, built trans, fuel system, exhaust, intake and programmer (i'm sure I've forgot some stuff) all at once and the change was unbelievable.

I am with you on hating working on Fords. My thing is that I love what I do - every time someone comes to pick up their truck and they take it for that first ride I get to see that smile on their face, whether it's just tuning, a built trans and race tuning, a turbo, built motor - they always have that same smile like they are in love with their truck and they a happy when they leave. Typically when I work on a Ford it is to fix something that is wrong with it - injectors, head gaskets, EGR delete, ect. The guys spend thousands of dollars and we haven't even added any performance to their truck - there is no smile and they leave here depressed that they just had to empty their wallet or even take out a loan to keep their truck running and fix Ford's mistakes.

Othrgrl-In your estimation is the new Ford 6.7 with emissions deleted and the nice Precision turbos kit installed with ARP lower and upper studs be an engine that can live for a daily driver under harsher towing and driving from the owner? The tuners are out and put down the power with the deletes custom tuning seems to get this engine to a level of output that seems very respectable. The Ford trans in this 6.7 seems to be a nice unit from what some owners have written and I'm just trying to see if you have a positive outlook on this truck and not a complete dismal opinion of it. It is a very nice truck to drive with those seats and the electronics packs they have in them. Ford has done some nice work. They are big and have things GM guys don't want or like but I just read along on your statements and decided to ask your opinion on it. I'm not really looking for drag or sled pull opinions just daily towing/driving with nice hard performance and low EGTS. Thanks for your input on all these topics we read over time..

ARP makes top and bottom studs for the 6.7's already?

I dont think anyone has had them over 500rwhp yet? I dunno, I may be wrong.

Man I gotta say i love them. I've been killing it on injector and head gasket jobs on those. easy to do too really

What kind of injector probs do they have? The 6.4 I drive at work has an awful injector noise and 2 different dealerships say they cant find anything wrong with it.

My Wifes uncle had a 04 Powerstroke for a couple years he just traded it in on an 06 Powerstroke because it kept breaking down with a big repair bill. He will probably have to trade this one in again within a year or two.

Meanwhile I will be driving my 12 second daily driver duramax that will be paid off by the end of the year:roflmao:
