Why is there not a new version of this.

Why since the late 60's we stopped looking at things like this. With today's technology you could make some pretty cool versions of this.

Yes lots of cool stuff the axial was neat too. But I think the AP superchargers could be used by sled guys as the fuel is not going into the truck engine it's only powering the charger.

There were some crazy fast cars running this back in the 60's. I remember when it got banned.

I honestly had a similar question while I was at a turbine course for Solar Turbines. In a remote mounted application, why couldn't a more efficient axial flow turbo be used instead of the more simple compact centrifugal turbos we all are so fixed on?
