Why am I pulling right?

Ever since i got my truck in November its been pulling to the right a tad. My alignment was checked and they said it is fine. I was told it is my tires? Can anyone speculate further? I know AT tires can hum a bit but never knew they can pull the truck.

Truck is an 07 Sierra 2500 LBZ on stock rims with BFG AT/ KM2s. I cant go get the exact size as Im at work but they are 32" I believe. Someone had the torsion bars cranked up and i havent touched it, so it still sits a little taller than factory.

Also, without a lift kit, how big can i go for tires? I'd like them a little bigger. I do love these BFG tires. Sorry for the new guy questions!

As weird as it sounds..after I put these proxies on, mine will pull away from the crown of the road (to the right)..my mt's didn't do that. Figured that out by going to the wrong lane and it pulled to the left...just an idea

Swap your front tires. put the LF on the RF and RF on the LF, then go test drive. if the pull stops or now pulls the opposite way, its the tires.

does it still pull on highways or only on city streets?

All the time. Highway is pretty bad. Fought it 3000 miles from MD to CO while towing. Thanks for the tips guy!

Any ideas on an upgrade size when these go tits up? Gonna start saving.

Mine did similar to your guys trucks a few months back and never really thought about it, like NinjaMax said is what mine was doing and my alignment was as close to perfect as could be, I replaced my front wheel bearing with new ones and it was like driving a whole new truck. Wheel bearings would be my first swap if the rest of the steering gear is in good shape, if not I'd go for new Balljoints, tie rods and all first. On a stock wheel a 285/75/16 33x11.50 is about as big as you wanna go depending on brand of tire and type, mud terrain, all terrain ect. I've seen 305/70s on stock wheels and they rubbed pretty hard but depends on the truck and torsion bar settings. It's all in the right back spacing of the wheel

one brake caliper (front right) is too tight so it is dragging on the brake pads on that one corner, causing your truck to pull to the right

its usually best to test for bad parts before just going ahead and buying everything and replacing it ;). unless your pocket book doesnt care, in that case, make the parts guy happy :D

Then the easiest thing to eliminate next is to swap front tires from right to left. If it goes to pulling left its your tires.

Just because they said all was well with the alignment, doesn't mean it is. You really need to find an alignment shop that knows their stuff on gm ifs. Cross caster will fix your pulling problems if there is enough adjustment left in it. I just had my front end aligned again 3rd time in two years and two out of the 3 were done wrong. This time a gm dealership set everything up pretty good, mine pulls slightly to the left, but everything is where it should be and my new tires are wearing evenly. The alignment tech told me he couldn't get the cross caster exactly where he wanted it because of my torsion bars being cranked, but it is not bad. My last alignment was only a year ago on another set of new tires and the tires were wearing on the outsides and the alignment tech at the dealership said it was way out. I saw the print out from the prior alignment and it showed in spec. My guess is that the truck was road tested and rechecked.

Have you made sure your torsion bars are equal, I would think an extra crank on one side could cause the truck to pull left or right

I mean equal left to right. He mentioned his keys were cranked, and he hasn't checked them. If the previous owner cranked one key 8 times and another 10 it might make enough difference to pull the truck towards the looser side.

My guess in this order; torsion bars, tire pressures, weak centerlink parts, alignment, and then brake rubbing.

Yea mine is pulling to the right as well. Dealer had it for 5 days. After the 3rd tire failure with stock Goodyear wanglers on it. I changed them all. It started pulled about 2 months ago and had a feeling it was a tire so I waited and rotated them. The pull got worse is to the shop it went. Dealer said alignment was good "bad tire". So I drove straight to the tire shop. Put a set of toyo 295/55/20 mt on. Drive off and it still had the same pull to the right. WOW. brought it back to dealer after 5 days of them having it. Yes it still pulls to the right. If you let go the steering and count 2 sec. In in the other lane. I'm taking it to a front end specialist in the morning. We have checked break drag, wheel bearings seem fine?, and the front right is not still lock in. So it has to be something else. It's so bad it chewed up a tire in 3 weeks. But dealer says it's good!!!!

Got it fixed!!!!!! Margot in Baton Rouge aligned it and it drives so much better. The caster settling on the right was off and the camber on the right was out as well. Feels new again. And with the new shoes I put on her she's ready.
