I agree 100%. My issue too is I know I will never want to put a roll bar in my truck. I work a full time job (AD military) so going off to race after race isn't an option. The $$ spent building my motor, dual c's, injectors, so on and so forth just can't be justified to me. I LOVE my truck and I LOVE going fast but I'd also love to someday own a home and what not. Had I found a cheapo wreck RCLB or something and started there then yes I could see it cause that would be a fun truck. Shoot for what I can build my motor for I could buy and frame off resto a 67-72 Chevy truck with a BBC that would be a hell raising street truck but at the same time I love diesels...kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place
im with you on that all the way. most likely i will be done once i get this motor built. plus with having a baby on the way i would much rather spend time with family then at a race track. i get why people get out of this. but i am to much a die hard diesel guy to just put a stock motor in my truck and sell it or just leave it at that. at least with this build i will have something i can run for ever (god i hope at least) and have a fun toy to play with.
