Bought EFI a year ago and got it from Nick. 2 free tunes and the 530rwhp tune with AD150, DE downpipe, PPE shim, SC4 with 1056 and ran 8.000 in the 8th and 10.3 in the 1000ft. Dyno'd 531
Now I have RDL ups and cast manifolds, tru-trac, banks super scoop and hot pipe, egr delete pipe for better flow and egt's. But now I am running slower?? I have better tuning now(known to get people into low 12's) and fixed a few problems like PPE race valve(P0087) and boost problem.
I'm I missing anything. And here is the funny thing...I run faster the heavier I am. If I take out my seats I run slower??? With one of my new tunes I dyno'd 546 to the wheels and I have two more powerful tunes to go. But I can't seem to put it to the ground when racing???
Bottom line no matter which tune I run I can't get back to where I was.
List of mods:
EFI
S&B CI
Banks boost tube and Super scoop
PPE race valve
PPE boost controller
DE down pipe
RDL Cast flow manifolds and ups
RDL EGR Delete tube
Mike Bodine Custom trans with no Defuel/tq mngt
Eaton tru-trac
MBRP 5inch
AD150 modded**
And tranny tuned

Any thoughts????:(
Or just leave it alone!

Just the way he does all his trans. My miliage went way up!

Mileage and racing are 2 things that dont go together. Build a tune for the track, and a tune for mileage. Who cares how many MPG you get down the track.

Also whats the weather looking like between the runs that differ? Same tracks?

What I menat in your 60's, is how are they different. Are thy higher now with more power? More power could result in slower 60's and result in slower ET. (traction). There is a point when The power is more than the traction can handle. Its common to see a truck loose a ton of ET after bringing up the power. A couple things to consider is traction, temperature (engine/turbo/intake), fuel (could be running out toward end of track with more power).

Also tire pressures need to change with more power. There is a fine line where it helps with traction and slows you down from resistance.

You say you seem faster with more weight, so that tells me maybe traction issue. You may not actually be able to feel the slip or loss of traction, but it does happen.

Try adding a little more tension to your passenger side t bar, then when the torque twists the driver front tire up (and a common traction loss occurrence) it will transfer weight back to that driver front tire.

Also as time goes on motors wear out, little more blow-by means less compression, build-up in heads/valves create less air flow...

Yep...60's are a big factor...What are the differences in DA?...
DA?? sorry

The Allison needs defuel
John Powel has helped me with a trans tune that does defuel a little

95-96 in the 1000' and 105-107 in the 1/4 best 12.70

Exhaust leak with the new manifolds up pipes??
Did when installed and fixed....soap and water- good to go!

Mileage and racing are 2 things that dont go together. Build a tune for the track, and a tune for mileage. Who cares how many MPG you get down the track. Yes I know...just happy bout the mpg with the LBZ!! But with the trans before the 3-4 shift was hard and completely wore out c2-4 clutches.

Yes same track, but the condition are much hotter. I do see my IAT temp being 122*What I menat in your 60's, is how are they different. Are thy higher now with more power? Fix this and brought the fuel pressure down to accomidate this issue.

Did notice a little tire shavings on the driver side door the other night??

Will try this

Hope not to soon!!

Thanks for all the input, any other thought come to mind either small or big?

Thinking out loud...
I have tried to go back and think what all I had/ran with that night with those times.
No caltrac
no rdl ups maniflods
nick 530 tune
PPE shim and boost controller which even in off I thought was still on but delayed until you hit 18psi
Now I have more and to what benefit??

You are likely making more power (and in different rpm range) with the most recent mods. Your truck hooks well enough but you might want to consider some drag radials (or slicks) to work on your 60' times.

I am thinking possible things... Your peak Hp is peaked in a different rpm range like J said.

Maybe your cp3 is getting tired, how does your rail pressure compare to before?

TC could need refreshing?

Will consider this. Need some video of my lauches.

I do notice my HP picking up after the 8th.Maybe your cp3 is getting tired, how does your rail pressure compare to before?
John showed me an average holding of 175 to 180.

I think I can log that? TC is 2-3 yrs old

Do you log your runs? You could gain some very valuable info from doing that and maybe point towards the answer.
Yes, John has helped out in a big way of helping me read what I log. Learning as we speak.
