Who’s running 35s?

Who else is running 35s on stock gears? My more or less stock lbz on 35s gets terrible mileage. Like 12 mpg average.

As far as I know it’s stock tuning, which I’ll probably change eventually. Exhaust and down pipe, drop in air filter.

35s on aftermarket 17s, truck is stock height so it’s not 10’ tall catching wind.

I don’t remember ever having a dmax that got 12 unless it was hooked to a trailer. I’ve had 35s on 3 different ones.

I run 35s on 17" H2 rims, and I get 11-13 in town, 14-16 commuting, and 16-18 on the highway depending on speed. Stock gears, but a built motor with a big single and a cam.

I did run 35s on a stock motor (tuned) for a little while before the build, and it only lost 0.5 MPG over my previous 285s, which surprised me. I took a much bigger hit (1-2 MPG) with the built motor, but I drive it differently now too, so hard to compare.

If you're getting 12 on a stock tune and not lead-footing it around everywhere, I'd say something isn't right.

I drive like a grandpa, I’m to old to fix shit when it breaks from running like a teenager.

I did bump the air pressure up and clean the super nasty air filter last night so maybe I’ll see 13 now lol.

Also headed on a road trip this weekend so I can see what it does on strictly highway.

I’ll tune it if I have to, but the stock tune does everything I ask it so I don’t see the need to spend the money otherwise

Have you corrected the speedometer to account for the larger tire rotating slower? I went to stock 2011 18" wheels and tires and my speedo is 5 MPH slower. It adds up.

I accommodate in my mileage figuring. Everything is hand calculated.

A 34.5” tire is 12% taller than stock, I reset my trip meter every time, add 12% to the trip, and divide by gallons taken to fill up.

Ya that’s pretty bad even for 35s. Maybe the injectors are not in great shape. While I only have 33s. When my truck was newer I could get 20-21hwy driving nice. Normally got 18-19. Before doing injectors I was only getting 16-17hwy. I haven’t had my truck on the hwy since the injectors where done, but I hope it’s a little better.

I’ll give you an example since I don’t have a paper copy of my fill ups.

Trip meter says 300 miles

300 x 12% = 336 miles

Fill up truck to bottom of filler neck like always and it takes 25 gallons

336 miles divided by 25 gallons = 13.44 mpg

my math goes like this: stock tires = 662 rotations per mile. 300 miles = 198,600 rotations.

34.5" tires = 584 rotations per mile. 198,600 / 584 = 340 miles

340 miles / 25 gallons = 13.6 mpg

looks like a 13.3% increase in miles.

Pretty much the same result, mine just requires me using my brain less lol. I’ll change my calculations to 13% more miles.

Still mileage sucks haha. I might break down and tune it just to get it in the upper teens.

I'd love mine to be in the upper teens. only get that on the highway. around town its like 11 or 12 mpg. but mines a heavy pig. regeared and tuned it didn't help any

I have never ck mine Corbin, 35’s no lift. I just put fuel in it when it gets low. I’ll ck it next fill up for shits and grins. I know it sucks on the interstate at 80+...

Maybe try running in 5 th gear unless you are at highway speeds. Driving around at 55 mph in 6th is lugging it pretty good with 35’s.

I ran 35's on my LBZ ECSB with Rob tunes and couldn't resist keeping my foot out of it at least once a tank, and I usually averaged 16-18 hand calc'd

I get 20-21 mpg on highway with mine and about 15 around town. Hand calculated

Back in the day dads lbz on 35s averaged 18ish with bobo's tunes. My lb7/zf usually averages 16ish. With a lot of city stop and go. Open road shes good for 20 still.

500 mile trip this weekend. 95% highway driving at 70.

14.8 mpg over all average. 14.7 on the way there, 14.9 on the way back.
