We aren't off-roading, and no 12 second trucks have rolled over at the track.

When stock trucks do roll over on flat ground, they are not a significant risk to a seatbelted and helmeted driver.

The reasoning would indicate we need rollbars in all truck that are driven on the street.

It's actually hard to roll a stock truck on flat ground. They slide.

Your right Pat we are not offroading. I was just throwing that example out there as a response to the "cabs squish flat on a 7000lb truck" comment that someone made one time. If it has to be, I think it is an alternative to caging out the inside of the truck.

I know mine will never see a cage.

Yes, I feel safest running the 4wd truck :cool2:

Last year on Mothers Day, Pat asked me what I wanted to do. Go racing of course Sweetie

We head out to LACR and they are only running 1/8th mile because of the wind :(

Well the wind dies down a bit:D and us and bunch of the Cobra guys are trying to talk the officials into opening it 1/4 mile. They tell us it Bernie's (Track Owner) decision. So everyone voluntaries me  After my :quote: It's Mother's Day begging:quote: he tells me when I get up to the lanes to tell the guys to give me a solo pass in Casper in the 1/4 mile and if sees that Casper does fine he will keep it open to the 1/4 mile :D
Exactly!

nope, I think they should come with cages stock, they are rolling death traps. Even that isn't enough. Nope, it should be a full racing interior stock, and you have to wear helmets just driving around, yep, that is enough

and if they enforce that rule the DHRA will dry up real quick.
DHRA is going down hill anyways, but they never had any input into the whole cage conspiracy. DHRA rules have no effect on the NE since they don't run anywhere closer than Indy or somewhere down South.
The accident happened at a NHRDA event, if they adopted rules it would effect us since there is 7 races in Division 5( http://www.nhrda.com/Events-D5.htm ) which is mostly the North East.

Worse case scenario is roll bar rule goes back to 11.99 & faster for trucks.
You may see max weights for et/mph, more attention paid to crankshaft heights & tire restrictions(speed rating, load rating & tread configuration)

The NHRDA is not instigating this. I have gotten their personal assurance they are not behind this, and they do not want stricter rules for diesels than other vehicles.

It is a small group of southern diesel guys, mostly non-racers or "trailer-queen" owners. Not DHRA, NHRA, IHRA, etc. They refuse to produce even antedotal evidence that 12 second trucks are at risk more than 12 second cars. Just some basic math saying that heavier things weigh more. Ditto for the 11.50-11.99 trucks. No proof of a problem.

The best proof they have, is that existing NHRA guidelines have seen several accidents with no injuries. That is their "proof" and their call-to-arms to change the guidelines; They Work, so They Must Be Changed NOW.

For one reason or another, they elected TTS to be their spokeshole, perhaps due to his close proximity to NHRA hdqtrs. Not sure.

When asked for the reason, they claim it's TOP SECRET and their small group knows what's best for everyone. If you disagree, you are shouted down or banned from their website. Conflicting opinions are not authorized in DodgeLand. ;)

To be honest, the Dodge guys get nervous if they aren't changing racing rules every 5 minutes and screaming at people. But I see no reason they are taking this to the Internet; their normal rulemaking methods are to make rules for each vehicle separately, in private, and tell people the rules in lanes, or after the race is over.

I thought this was a tech board, not Comedy Central.
Pat, I honestly believe you need medication for your delusions.
Best wishes on your speedy recovery.
