Hey guys. I have been talking with two outfits in the Evergreen/Aurora Colorado area about moving there for work the past couple of weeks. I would like some information on the area specifically where to look for an apartment.

If you are familiar with the excavation/grading companies in that area, any information you might have would be great as well.

I think thunder550, the guy who tossed an lly into a 99 1/2 ton, is in evergreen.

Evergreen and Aurora are two totally different places.... Aurora is east denver and evergreen is kind of out there for only being about 15 miles from town.

Evergreen is closer to Bandimere:D

As far as excavation, Fiore and sons is the only group I've worked with before and they were good to us.

I am currently in Omaha. I just got back from Afghanistan and was approached by Ames Construction initially to move out to Denver(Aurora) and run a grading crew. After looking around I found another company in Evergreen which seems to be more of a family operation so I am considering exploring both options.

just my opinion i wouldnt live in Aurora, crime and low class area.

This is exactly the type of information I am looking for. Thank you. :thumb:

I see on a map there are little sub areas of Denver like Lakewood and Wheat Ridge. Could you point me in the right direction when it comes to a middle to upper class area? I would like to stay on the outskirts of Denver though.

How close to town do you want to be?
Lots of towns have areas to avoid. Lakewood is a good example. There is great wealth and good schools and such in parts and large low income areas too. You can hop on 6th ave and get around pretty quick too.

If you can stand to be out of Denver, check into castle rock. I'm from there and its a great place. It's a bedroom community to Denver.

Parker isn't a bad place if you are working on the east side of Denver. Same with littleton (highlands ranch and so on, which is where EVERYONE in Denver lives) on the west side of Denver. Both are nice, but more in the city. Castle rock is separated by some open space and a few miles.

Just curious, I thought ames didnt have any work in Colorado because theyve moved a lot to Phoenix, ive been working on a lot of there equipment lately. But if your looking to work with ames they seem to be a good company.

Honestly I wouldn't know. I can only tell you what I have been told and that is all work is local to the Denver area and the position requires little to no overnight travel(50 mile radius). I find that odd but again, I can only go off what they tell me.

I will know more from both operations once I schedule a meeting out there.

So I went out and visited the company in Evergreen. I stayed in Lakewood and had dinner in the Belmar area. I really like that part of town because it reminds me of home here in Omaha. The cost of living is certainly higher that is for sure.

At this point I am going to start looking for an apartment in the above mentioned areas by Mile High. Thanks guys.
