Wondering where the cheapest place to get a shaft cryo treated would be? I have no idea who could do this, would be awesome to find someone locally though. But I'm gonna assume I'll have to send it out in the mail

I don't off hand, shouldn't be much though. Wide Open Performance used to do cryo in-house before they were bought out by H&S. All their equipment fame from 300 Below, I think they're busy enough they do a couple runs a week so you probably wouldn't have to wait long.

Ask some local shops. There is a guy that does it around me that serves a lot of local shops.

My input shaft and brake pads and some other stuff have been done. Dirt cheap.

Bought a cryo treated 1 3/8" input shaft for my old cummins nv4500. Said it was "30% stronger" than a non cryo treated 1 3/8" shaft. I think i paid about 30 bucks more for it so I said why not.

IIRC A cryo input solved the problem of them breaking for mark on jon swartzentruber's pull truck. Same for johnboy. Once cryo treated, their trans have been very stout. Thats been a cpl years tho. Maybe they do differently now?

If this new converter don't work out yes. Been wanting to for awhile, one more mishape with this auto and ill be convinced. Allison's are a money hole from what I've seen out of mine. If a stick slips its the clutch, and you either got a gear or you dont. No bullshit about it trying to figure other stuff out.
