I wouldn't be opposed to changing.

Reason i asked is if i were putting together a mean street machine, i'd go t6. Order up a 5" pedestal and start there. Probably not abolutely necessary, the difference would probably not be noticeable in power numbers. It's just that when you get into that power level, most turbos capable of that # come T6 only. Mark and others makethe custom T4 housing for the 96/88 S400 TW, that simplifies a lot.

Other than maybe sacrificing some spool up time on a street truck with a big single I'd go with a remote mount to free up the valley & run a wagler street intake

Remote mount would solve all the fitment issues. If you have one made with a T4 flange, you can always run an adapter to try a T6 turbo. You cannot go the other way very easily, though. (T6 flange adapted to T4 charger)

So with having the t4 flange & using an adapter for a t6 that puts the bolts outside of welded on flange?

IDK if I'm over thinking this but I had thought of doing a remote mount with a plate big enough for a t6 & also also having holes to bolt a t4

S400 frame turbos the Stainless Diesel 5-blade has so far made the highest horsepower on my engine dyno at 1364hp so that is my turbo of choise in the S400 frame and they do offer it in the Ball bearing Billet cart which is the best of the best combo for those that can afford them. Of the GTX stuff we have engine dyno'd I've never really been impressed with them. If I was going to run a "Garrett" style turbo for big power I would go straight to a Precision Turbo and call it a day because that is what we have seen the best results from.:thumb:

This seems to be my best option with a single. Should get me close to my goals and spool decent. Price isn't too far off a GTX4508 and I'd be able to keep it in the valley.

Too many blades for a primary in a compound setup, their slower turning than run as single
Save your self some money put a one less blade(than cast) billet wheel in a 475 or 480

I'm actually looking at using them for twins. But I definitely see what you're saying in this application. So it would be better to run a 5 blade for the primary and a 10-12 blade on the atmosphere?
