Coming from a stock pump/trans/turbo/sticks perspective on my '05 LLY, I had Dustin tune my truck. My truck rips pretty damn good. It runs a little smokey until the turbo lights, but the power comes on strong and holds throughout the RPM range. I see about 550* at 70mph cruising down the highway, and I spike about 30PSI Boost and settles at about 25PSI on my Hot street (200rwhp over stock tune). Being mostly stock besides ARP Headstuds, Pro-Comp traction bars, S&B LBZ Intake, 4" Flo-Pro turbo back, I have out run a variety of fast cars. With that being said, I've ridden in an LBZ truck with Tony tuning, felt great. I personally prefer Dustin. But that is just my 2 cents! :thumb:

I have seen several local trucks with custom tunes in them run very good. Then they were tuned by Tony and the trucks run harder though out the RPM range just not on the bottom or top end:thumb:. He has tuned some sick ass large single trucks that would hardly light before and now light very quik. I will have my truck tuned by Tony very soon as soon as I get my ECM flashed back to stock.

Kory is another good one, just hard to get in touch with and to talk to. Is there really any difference between tony, kory,Dustin as far as hp? or is it more like which one tunes the safest? Only going to use the big tune for pulling and thats it.

Kory worked with me over the phone running logs and emailing tunes basically live while I was driving & logging I had Kory on the phone & told him what I thought how the truck ran from down low mid and wot. emauled back and forth about 3 times and the lmm rocks hard for being an 8,000 lb boat anchor. Thumbs up for Willis!

Find someone local with a V2. I have had my truck tuned and retuned at least a dozen times and don't have an autocal or V2, just a couple good friends willing to spend a few minutes to work with me.

You would need a license, but if you know the person it is worth it since they can make future changes for you.

Personally, not a fan at all of Dustin's tunes. My buddy has his stock trans tunes on his LBZ and even his 150hp with a lift pump seems like a big slouch. It only dyno'd 380whp on a fairly accurate dyno, runs a 9.1 and feels about like my 80hp from Kory. Dustin tuned it in person at the shop so he has driven it and I assume didn't feel anything wrong compared to how that tune ran on other trucks he has tuned. I know Dustin is a smart guy and has the ability to make great power but not so fond of his "canned" tunes. My 120hp from Kory will walk the dog on his 150.

With that being said, Dustin has always answered any questions I have and will be the one who builds my trans as well as my buddy Jordan's LBZ. He has Kory's built trans tunes in my autocal waiting for it. I would defintely go with Tony, Rob or Kory if I was in the market again.

I'm running Moonshine on my truck and I'm really happy with it. Having a locked tune can be a hassle when you want to make a small change or look at something but it's not a big deal, Tony is pretty quick about answering questions and making changes.

No one is perfect and Dustin is no exception. My LBZ ran an 8.04 in the 1/8th with his off the shelf Acid tune. If somethings not right he will make it right. On edit I read back and noticed you said "trans safe tune", every tuner has a different opinion of what is trans safe and what is not. If you want power he can make you scatter your parts all over the road but be careful what you ask for.

I will definetly say that it is hard to get better customer service then Moonshine. Tony is always really quick to get back with you and tune changes.

Never said anyone was perfect. Also didn't say anything bad about his tuning other than my buddy asked for a 150hp tune and didn't exactly get that. Now whether or not that's what he actually has and if Dustin made a simple mistake is another story. I have heard good things about Dustin's more "custom" tunes but have also heard way more horror stories about his acid tune more specifically being a straight up piston melting tune and not to touch it with a 10' pole. A local guy here ran it on his LBZ and ran an 8.3 I believe and the next event he had Kory's built trans tunes and ran a 7.9 consistent all day. Just my experience from friends trucks and what I've been around and absolutely no personal experience on MY truck so take that for what it is. Dustin's acid and stock trans tune flared the hell out of the 3-4 change in both trucks for some reason. We have asked around and it has been said that it's just characteristic of his tunes and never had any real issues. There is no doubt the guy is good at what he does as a whole. Trans builds, installs, motor work, etc and gives the customer what they ask for. My only gripe is what I have experienced with his tunes in what I've been around. Everything else though and he is one of the best on the east coast IMO.

Kind of off topic here, but would a lly charger with a batmo wheel and some 60% injectors make 600hp? i know a batmo wheel is only like $300, just seeing if its actually worth it. I have seen some say itll make like 40 more hp

I would say to wait and see how the truck feels on a stock max effort tune. I'm not going to go back and reread everything but if you do a downpipe, egr delete, and a lift pump and you'll be surprised how quick the truck is. Sometimes I wish I had kept my truck that way. More reliable and cheaper to fix on the rare occasion something does happen.
