Need some opinions here guys. I'm building a new race motor for my white Lbz. R&R rods, Hamilton race cam, pushrods, springs, SoCal dampner, billet flex plate, billet main caps, SoCal girdle, fully done heads, etc. all being built by cam at adrenaline in Shelley Idaho.

I am wanting to go forged but and still gonna drive the truck every now and again on the street to class and to mess around. Cam has a set of mahle forged in colbys truck with 40k plus on them.

Should i do mahle forged, fingers cast or fingers forged?

mantua, oh
If your gonna race more than dd I would do forged. The main problem with forged is cold starts. If u can prevent those u will be just fine.

I won't dd it ever. Just every now and again I'll take it for a drive. And I wont be driving it in the winter.

In all honesty it'll live at 800-850 90% of the time and less for running super diesel. But I plan on turning it up for SS every now and again at some races and dyno events. Probably 1100ish I would guess

My vote goes for the Fingers Forged as well:thumb: Mark's truck sounds so nasty with the Fingers pistons too.:thumb:

That's kinda what I'm leaning towards.

If I knew his cast would hold up I would get them. But I feel I would just be nervous about them all the time

I agree but I just hate to pay full price for something that, although is a great idea and well thought out, just isn't proven. It would be awesome if they ended up holdin but would be real shitty if they didn't.

If that was the case with mine then I would 100% go with his cast. But mine will be at the track more than the street.

I still can't decide what to do.

I just don't wanna put in another cast and worry but don't wanna put in a forged and feel like I can't take the truck downtown or on a cruise if I want. Or if I wanna drive it to a race or 2 off the trailer.

Then I gonna weigh out how often I'll actually turn it up.

If you're really going to use it on the street as little as you say, you're worrying way too much about using forged pistons. Now if you're lying to yourself and you're going to use it on the street a lot then go with the cast.

I dont feel I'll use it a lot on the street as I'll still have blackout that will run easy 11s but what's a safe number of miles with forged? 5-10k a year? Cuz I don't even do that daily driving lol. I may drive 150 miles a week tops lol
