Might look into the Mishimoto unit! Seems more reasonable on price and is rumored to have a lifetime warranty although I can't confirm.

What kind of gain will you see with a new intercooler from either banks, mishimoto, or even spearco? And this is with the added 3inch tubes as well.

I went with Banks. Now I just have to install the darn thing.

On a stock turbo truck you wont see any major gains in power. The truck will probably feel slower and the turbo won't be as responsive. It will drop the EGTs however.

65 psi on my Banks for the last year and a half and 40-50 psi for the year before that and no leaks. I do check mine for leaks periodically.

Would you be able to say banks is the best bang for the buck? I don't think I would ever have to worry about their quality being an issue, or if a problem arose banks would probably take care of it. Would a gated s366 be a good candidate for something like this? I see an s366 seems to be a popular crowd favorite.

I have the BD intercooler, and I gotta say, I went with it over the banks because of the extruded fin design and the overall bar design, those two things seem superior in my eyes to the banks. The fit and finish of the BD unit is top notch, there is even a slight bend in the intercooler to match the profile of the front of the truck, which I was not expecting and thought was pretty trick. The end tanks are cast and the elbows have a nice transition for good air flow, I have only had 42psi going through it being pushed by a 4094 avant, but my egt's are lower than they were on the same tuning (essentially) as the stock turbo, and I haven't noticed any lag due to the intercooler, turbo still spools quick even though it's bigger.

I'm pretty sure you have to be pushing some big boost before you will see the gains.
Not really the slower the flow the more effective the charge will be cooled, the higher the psi the faster the air is moving thru the cooler and not as efficient. That being said any better cooling is a welcome thing always.

Banks is pretty good for the money but I know a member here that bought a new 1 and boost tested it and 1 of the welds was leaking not bad but for the money you spend on them they shouldn't leak. Also if you have an LB7 your intercooler is most likely leaking they all do for the most part.

I have a DTS cooler showing up probably tomorrow,it looks to be a very good cooler.I would never spend 1200 for it but I bought it never used second hand for a good price,i will try to report back here and let you know impressions and results if I remember lol.
