Which Goerend for a GTX4294R?

Just recently got the new setup road worthy and I can not get on top of the 1078 when on the brakes with the 4294/1.15 ar. Thinking I need to go to the K or J but not sure. Plan on playing with the 4202 as I have the stuff, so hoping one or the other will do a nice job for both turbos. TIA

I struggle to get on top of a ball bearing 80mm turbo 87 turbine 1.25ar with a K converter at sea level. It’ll do it but just barely. I think the K would be fine for you

You are definitely going to want something larger than a K. I prefer a J or a suncoast 1053-3. I run an s480/87/1.0 with a Goerend J extreme clutch and is paired perfectly.

Side note- I have a near new ATS 2800 stall 5 disk billet stator converter for sale if you decide to go that route- $750 shipped.

Thanks for insight fellas. Because I'm a dummy when it comes to converters, what kind of changes can be expected for daily driving with the higher stall? I'll be able to stage it but will it also be a lil more responsive to drive as well?

I personally would go to a J. The J is a killer driving converter, it acts VERY similar to an R until you ask for the extra stall it has available. It couples extremely well.

100% agree! I run a J in my truck with just a single 68mm VGT. I know way too much converter for my application had originally planned to run a S400 based turbo, but it drives very nice and truck rolls into boost instantly. Track times are great with it and street fun is all time high.
