I was a sophomore in college & was walking out of my dorm room heading to my first class of the day. By the time I got to class the second plane had hit.

Thinking back on it, I don't think I grasped the severity of it at the time. I can't remember how classes went that day or if I even went to the rest of them? I don't have a terrible memory, in general, but I don't recall much else about the day.

I was in 5th grade going into 2nd period. We stopped class and went to church for a silent prayer ceremony (catholic grade school). After church went back to class, they never let us watch it in school. We had to wait till we got home to see it all.

I wasnt fishing that day so I was on my way to my fathers to help him work on his race truck, was listening to Howard Stern went the 1st plane hit. Got to my fathers shop, told him about what was going, turned on the tv just as the 2nd plane hit
a week prior to 9/11 I was coming back from PA, it was my 1st time driving by NYC. I forget what highway I was on(west of the city with a good view of it) was stuck in traffic & just stared at the city skyline

I was at work and the boss yelled out from the break room for us to come over . When we got over to him he had the tv on and the first tower had been hit and was on fire.
I remember the new caster was thinking it was an accident when in the next few moments you see the secound plan fly into the secound building. I remember saying to the guys that was no accident.
I also remember the severity of it really did not sink in until the first building came down.

I was on my way to the shop and turned on talk radio. They were describing some very bizzar and I thought they were doing a book review. Then the explanation came and I couldn't believe it. Called my wife on the cell and told her to turn on the tv. She asked " is this a joke? " I said no.
When I came home I turned the tv on and watched the crashes over and over in disbelief.
I kept asking myself how in the hell could this happen in our country.

I was on my way to work and like normal turned on Mark and Brian. They were talking about a plane crashing into the tower and didn't know if it was an accident or attack. Then the second tower was hit and it was clear it was an attack. Once I got to work we got a TV going just as the first tower fell. I couldn't believe it. Nobody could. Everyone was glued to the television the whole day.

I was a freshman in high school. woke up in the morning to my mom watching TV down stairs which was odd concidering she isnt an early riser, generally shes up just before i leave for school. She flags me into the room to watch TV and says "honey, you have to see this. A plane hit the world trade center". At the time, we all thought it was an accident as well and my buddies and i were all talking about it before heading to the first class.

First class was PE and the teacher had us all inside watching the TV, thats when we watched the second plane hit. Man thats an image i cant forget. Each class all we did was watch the news on the attack. From the time the last plane hit to collapse of the towers, Flight 93s take down and the pentagons hit. At the time i really didnt know what to think. i was more pissed than anything and just like mike said, couldnt believe it happened in our country.

Thank you to all who served and are serving (military, police, firefighters, and everyone else out there to protect us) and a prayer from me to those who lost loved ones on this day

I was working on an a/c unit at a building pretty close to dfw international. We all noticed the plane traffic just kind of stopped, then our boss called us and told us. Traffic on the roads that afternoon was very light.

The picture looking up at the south tower from ground level with a still image of the 2nd place about to hit the building is still glued in my mind to this day.

I was getting ready for work and turned the tv on just after the first plane hit. Watched the second plane hit, something I will never forget. Pried myself away from the tv to go to work. No one actually worked that day, we all just stared at the tv and discussed what was happening. The whole day was surreal.

I stayed home sick in 5th grade. I remember watching it as soon as it happened because my mom was watching Fox News and making me breakfast. I'll never forget that morning. Every video clip the whole thing. The footage that shocked me was when people started giving up and losing hope and started jumping from the building.

Its a tragedy of a century, but I love how everybody understands and remembers this day. Hopefully our children will understand the pain that went down that day and won't take it for another history lesson.

Lot of my friends lost parents and relatives that day. My dad was working at a house on the water and they could see the smoke.
