So I've been looking for a really cheap duramax for me to drive, something around $5000 or maybe even less. I've heard of deals like this before, but I can't seem to find anything close to that. Im thinking of like an 01'-02' with a lot of miles, or maybe one that isnt running, but with a clean title. Where could I go to look for a deal like this?

They are definitely around Drew...just gotta look.

My buddy Foster just bought an 03 regular cab with 270k on it for $2,800! It wasnt a work truck either, had power windows and stuff. The problem was the guy hit a snow bank with it so it had no bumper or grille when Foster bought it. Also, the guy said the frame was slightly bent, but the guy drove it home from the accident....so it couldnt have been that bad???

Just be patient, you'll find one. :)

Keep searching craigslist, autotrader and ebay. My brother paid 4700 for one with 240k and mine was 4500 with 150k and bad injectors.

There was an 02 cc/sb here not too long ago that was a bank repo. The ad said it didn't run but who knows what little thing (or major, didnt look at it) was wrong with it but it was in really good shape for $6k

Drew.... I have access to dealer only auctions in your area... when you have some cash together let me know and I will see what I can find for you :thumb:

That's the best way to get ripped off. Been to an auction lately? Dmax's are high!

Once a vehicle has a salvage title in CA it can't be changed Drew. That doesn't really effect anything though besides resale value, and sometimes insurance.

Most insurance companies will only pay out half of fair value if it gets totaled again.

I've been searching for a cheap single cab but haven't come across any deals for months, the salvage auctions I go to here haven't had much for single cabs either.
