Found a guy in Ohio that rebuilds them called Nate's garage. It was $1500 with a life time warranty.

I use gm as well. Another advantage to a GM transfer case is there warranty. Parts and labor, and the warranty is honored at any GM dealership in the us. So even if your out and about you have that piece of mind.

Are you guys buying GM case halfs too if that's all that needs to be replaced or is there a good reliable source for new halfs? Any opinion on switching to aluminum or keeping the magnesium case?

Sorry OP not trying to hijack, just didn't want to start a new thread for similar questions

Thanks

There are places you can buy the aluminum back half and they are all good. I think only one company builds them for everyone.
My point was Transfer case Express screwed me.
I bought one for a '02 gasser and it didn't work right. I played with it and changed the encoder motor. Still kicked out of gear in 4X4. I then called Transfer Case express and they said we will send you a container for shipping it back at your expense. We will then tear it down at your expense and determine if it was your fault or ours.
I then told them that I felt I was being screwed. I then tore down the case and found a gear with missing teeth. I fixed it.
I totally believe they would have blamed my customer for the damage and charged me for another rebuild.
I will rip this company till the day I die. They are trash.

I bought new GM when mine went out as well. Came with the motor and everything, and, if I remember correctly, a 2 yr/24k mile warranty? Might have even been longer than that. I think it was about $1400 total, at a time when you could not get a rebuild kit for the 08 electronic shifted tcase. Nice, clean, new parts are always more fun to install, anyway :)
