Tore down a 5 speed tonight. It was murdered inside. Every clutch was burnt. c1s had to be pryed off the input shaft. The c5s were pretty black as well. I know its recommended to leave them stock....But just curious since they had light heat spots in the steels (weren't warped) if I should just replace the frictions and steels or just put new frictions in. I know the steels are selective so just curious what is recommended in a situation like this. Thanks in advance.

He brought me the trans I told him I wanted truck but he insisted. I see it has new speed sensors in it i guess he tried. It creeped forward in drive and had reverse. I'm going to make him bring the truck to me so I can install and test pressure.

And just throwing it out ther, I asked just about replacing frictions because iv seen at trans shops where if steels were okay, they would just replace frictions and gaskets/seals. That's the only reason I ask. It's been a long day and I guess I just wasn't thinking. Gonna mic it out tomorrow and order new everything from the allison dealer.
